The Colorado Rockies may be turning a corner as they try to finish the 2021 season strong. It has been a fun couple of weeks watching this team finally show some signs of life. What they do in the next fifty games could dictate their future for 2021 and beyond.

Therefore, the Rockies have a chance to try and put the pieces together for next season build on the foundation. Everything from the current roster, free agency to the farm system will be taken into stock. They have a good core of talent mixed with veteran and younger players who have the potential to be good. Can the Rockies turn a corner heading into next year?

Turning a Corner

There will be many factors in what direction the Rockies take in the future. One factor may be CJ Cron, who has been on a tear at the plate hitting over .400 with four home runs and twenty hits in the last two weeks. He has been playing good defense at first base and has been a decent hitter. Also, Trevor Story a free agent at end of the season will be hard to replace. Though the Rockies do have Brendan Rodger and Garrett Hampson and Josh Fuentes who have played well.

They have won three of the last four series both on the road and at home. Colorado is doing this with a high-powered offense and good starting pitching. There is a lot of talent on this team to work with but something is still missing. Though they have been a lot of fun to watch at times especially those walk-offs at Coors Field.

Intriguing Team

The Rockies have played better baseball and winning more games as the season winds down. The home record is 40-21 after sweeping the Padres this week. They are still below .500 on the road where they struggle to score a run Therefore It’s puzzling how they play so well at home but once they got on the road something goes wrong. Imagine if they could play consistent baseball how well their record could be. Something to strive for going into next year

This Rockies team has the potential to be a contender if only they could take the next step. It would be nice to see them finish the last six weeks strong. This s a team to pay attention to in the offseason as they have tough decisions to make. They are searching for a new General Manager and have some holes to fill.
