The Boston Red Sox and Fenway Park hosted the award-winning band New Kids on the Block for a celebration of music and baseball. A fun event for both the team and group to welcome the return of live events.

Fans rejoiced as the group hit the stage for the first time since 2019. It was an amazing moment after the challenges of the last year. This is the start of live music returning and in one of the most historic ballparks in sports. There is something special about NKOTB playing at Fenway Park where they grew up going to games.

Fenway Park Homecoming

After a challenging year, the group and team are finally playing with fans in the stands. There were special live streams of the show for fans as they wait for the tour in 2022. The group and team shared their gratitude, love, and respect for their mutual fan base. This was fun to see them come together since they are both staples in Boston.

Since 2008, NKOTB has been hugely successful in headlining arenas, releasing music, and playing Fenway three times. The stadium opened for concerts with this being the headlining show. It was literally and figuratively like fireworks as the guys sung every song like a smash in true showman styles. The audience enjoyed the classics like “I’ll Be Loving You Forever”, “Step by Step”, and “Hanging Tough” which they took to a whole new level.

On July 27th the Red Sox hosted NKOTB Night with a t-shirt giveaway in preparation for the Fenway Park concert. The group is known for being huge Red Sox fans and wear the jerseys on stage. The theme night and concert were good ways to celebrate the Red Sox’s successful season. Merchandise featuring the team and band is being sold.

New Kids on the Block Concert Highlights

The New Kids on the Block event featured chart-topping hits, fresh choreography, and plenty of Boston sports teams references. A highlight was when the group opened the show performed ”We Were Here” for the first time dressed in decked-out Boston warm-up jackets. It set the tone for the rest of the show.

The New Kids on the Block concert is a good way to gain exposure for the team and stadium because of the group’s widespread fan base. Since Boston is leading the AL East with their best season yet heading into the playoffs. This collaboration was a success and could inspire more events like this one in the future,

For those who could not make the show, there are live streams and videos available to watch, which I recommend. Also, check out the bands and team’s online stores for unlimited edition baseball merchandise. Stay tuned for more Red Sox and New Kids on the Block news.
