This holiday season has been interesting. It’s still been good fun, Santa even gave me a Mac Jones jersey and an air fryer. But the holidays were just missing something. After some thinking, I came up with an idea for a sport that could potential make every sport’s fan’s Christmas more exciting.

Look at all this snow and ice that could be used for this new sport!

The Perfect Winter Sport

As said by the poet Steve Wonder, during Christmas time, there is “Lots of Snow and Ice, Everywhere we go.” So I thought, what if there was a sport that utilized that snow and ice. Now there’s already plenty of winter sports, but only a few involving just ice. So I started brainstorming ideas about a sport on ice.

When I was growing up, I played a lot of lacrosse. While brainstorming, I thought what if we made a version of that spot put on ice? Instead of passing a ball through the air though, players of this new sport could use a small frisbee-looking thing that slides on the ice. And instead of the typical lacrosse sticks, they could use these sticks with long ends.

Players would obviously be on skates this whole time, but similar to lacrosse this sport would be pretty physical so everyone would have to wear pads. Maybe the goalies would have to wear bigger ones too due to having to stop the frisbee things. I just think this idea could help to add more excitement to not only the holiday season but the entire winter as well.

Just imagine if they played this new sport in Bejing this year, that would be so cool!

Where Will This Be Played?

This sport would obviously be more welcome in the northern US and especially Canada, but I could imagine maybe people in Florida or even Las Vegas would enjoy this new sport too. I especially think Boston and New England as a whole would really enjoy this sport. Maybe if the sport gets popular enough they’d have a pro league with a team in Boston. I don’t know what the name could be. I’m lazy so maybe they could just be the Bears, but there’s obviously already the Chicago Bears, and the Cubs already have that synonym taken. So maybe they could use another synonym for bear for the team in Boston.

Maybe if the sport becomes globally popular, it could even be represented in the Olympics. I think that would be awesome. I’m sure it would be very exciting to watch. Maybe the best younger players of the sport could also play in their own special tournament as well. They could call it the “World Tournament of Junior Players.” That’s probably too long though, but this is all theoretical, if this stuff were to actually happen then I’m sure it would go off without a hitch.

WHY

God, I just want hockey back. It’s been WEEKS since I’ve even seen the Bruins play. And now the IIHF is competing with the NHL for the most incompetent hockey organization. The World Juniors are always so much fun to watch during the holidays, but obviously now that’s not going to happen. At least this week, we got to see Brad Marchand dunking on the NHL over Twitter in regards to the Olympics. And I’m just glad I was able to have a little fun with this terrible hockey situation. Hopefully it will all be over soon, I HOPE.
