Bengals’ Cornerback Eli Apple decided to be a homegrown idiot on Twitter Sunday night. Out of nowhere, Apple tweeted that he couldn’t decide which fanbase he hated more, Saints or Giants fans. One of the most loyal, obsessed and defensive fanbases known to man, New Orleans fans were less than pleased. Considering Apple’s time as a Saint was nothing but of sheer liability, it’s unclear why he decided this would be a good idea. I can speak for most of Saints Nation and say we’ve been through enough lately and Eli Apple is one of the last people we want to deal with right now… or ever for that matter.
Idk which fan base I hate more ? prolly the saints but It’s close wit the giants it’s a toss up

Apple decided to come for the fans, and after the fans dug his grave, he decided to insult the city. At the top of the list of things you don’t do to anybody from New Orleans, in or around New Orleans, or anybody affiliated with New Orleans, is insult New Orleans.
New Orleans is the dirtiest smelliest city and has the worst food ever ? it’s that swine and crawfish thts killin yall brains

Saints army, assemble.
Where the comments stemmed from, who’s to say. But if we had to guess, I’d say Apple stayed up a little late drinking cheap liquor with his number one fan, his mother. If we all can reminisce, Annie Apple and Saints fans have never really been the best of friends.
Eli’s rant didn’t end with Saints fans, unfortunately, he took jabs at Giants reporters, and a random jab at Jalen Hurts over a Devonta Smith tweet from 2018. Back to the basics of the Saints shot he randomly decided to take, Apple’s stats in New Orleans are nothing short of garbage. His time in New York wasn’t much better, so where his balls came from, we’re unsure.

The guy that can’t stay on a team long enough to have fans…
The real kicker here is the fact that the Bengals not only have a championship game to focus on, but Apple decided to insult a city that more than one of his teammates are bred from, and multiple teammates spent their college careers in. The teammates, more specifically, the two that are carrying his weight to even be in the playoffs to begin with. One good play in a playoff game is no warrant to act a total clown on social media like you’re the best at well, …anything.
Ja’Marr Chase, born in Harvey, Louisiana, and one of LSU’s greatest productions, alongside Joe Burrow, you know, that guy that won a Heisman, also at LSU. Both of which are top players on the Bengals, and both of which are very well respected in New Orleans. We can only assume, and hope very pettily, that there’s now locker room animosity and the entire city wants Apple to get cooked like he did every other play in New Orleans.
Ceedy and Fox 8 have entered the chat.
Saints Safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson weighed in on Apple’s word vomit but has yet to receive a reply.
Boy watch yo mouth. You a pillow foreal ? https://t.co/GiSgrGaLpw

Even Fox 8 threw in their two cents on the madness. But as the saying goes, love the city and the city will love you back. Disrespect the city and well, you become a trending topic on Twitter for all the wrong reasons.
Yeah, we’re still trying to figure out how to replace your impactful two interceptions in 25 games played down here. https://t.co/C6cgoRUXjE

For your own enjoyment, here’s a golden compilation of Eli Apple being roasted …in a bunch of different uniforms.
So you know, good luck Chase and Burrow, and good luck to whoever ends up with Apple on their roster next year.
