Arguably one of the most elusive wide receivers ever, Tyreek Hill has been outstanding for the Kansas City Chiefs. As he enters the final year of his contract, many wonder if he will stay in Missouri.

Let’s be clear, he has not stated he wants out of Kansas City; however, this should be noted:

It begs the question: what if they decide to not extend Hill and let him walk in free agency?

$21 million a year is a hefty amount to ask for. It would make him the third highest-paid receiver in the NFL, trailing DeAndre Hopkins and Julio Jones.

If Kansas City decides to not re-sign him, the New York Giants need to give him a blank check immediately.

The New York Giants? Really?

Heading into next season, Daniel Jones will be the Giants starting quarterback unless a major change happens. GM Joe Schoen and HC Brian Daboll have expressed their confidence in the former #6 overall pick from Duke.

Something that Jones does well is throwing the deep ball. With the exception of last season, Jones was regarded as one of the top deep passers in the NFL.

From injuries to turnovers, there are many reasons why Giants fans believe there should be a change at quarterback. But, being asked to work with a lackluster receiver corps and a below-average offensive line will lead to struggles like Jones has had.

We can talk about Malik Willis and his outstanding ability to throw deep down the field. But, let’s not act like Jones didn’t show the same ability during his time at the Combine.

Including myself, there are Giants fans that still believe in Daniel Jones to be a franchise quarterback. Adding one of the best deep route runners in Tyreek Hill would rejuvenate the wide receiver room and help stretch the field for others. But, can the Giants afford him?

In 2023, the Giants will have more than $90 million in cap space. Even if they give Jones a new contract, Big Blue needs to give Tyreek Hill the highest-paid wide receiver in the league. He is a number one receiver who’s dependable.

It can be argued the Giants already have guys like Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney under contract. But, adding Hill will create a three-headed monster that will frustrate defensive coordinators on how to cover all three. When healthy, Golladay and Toney are capable of making big plays.

On the other side, the Chiefs may do whatever it takes to bring Patrick Mahomes’s favorite teammates back home. But, the Giants must pounce if they have the opportunity.

Imagine Tyreek in a Giants uniform. Brian Daboll and OC Mike Kafka would have fun creating plays to get the ball to him (Oh, and Kafka was one of the assistant coaches on Kansas City’s staff…).
