Out of all the teams that make the playoffs, only about three teams are serious contenders and have what it takes to win it all.  The Colorado Avalanche, Florida Panthers, and the Carolina Hurricanes lead the way as favorites to win the Stanley Cup.

The True Contenders

The Avalanche are the best team in the NHL and the favorite to win the Stanley Cup at +210. They are led by star center Nathan MacKinnon, who finished the regular season with 88 points in 65 games. On the backend, the Avs are headlined by Cale Makar, who many believe to be the league’s best defenceman. The Avalanche do not have any holes on their roster and are capable of dominating the playoffs.

The odds are changing every day, so be sure to act quickly. Round two will begin shortly, and the odds will certainly change.

The Florida Panthers have the second-best odds to win the Stanley Cup at +600 after winning the Presidents’ Trophy for finishing the regular season with the most points. The Panthers are the deepest team in the NHL and get contributions throughout the line-up. They also have two starting-caliber goalies that can come in and play at any time and command the crease in Sergei Bobrovsky and Spencer Knight.

Lastly, the Carolina Hurricanes come in with the third-best odds to win the Stanley Cup at +700. The Hurricanes were in first place in the Metropolitan Division for most of the regular season. They have a perfect mix of experienced veterans in Jordan Staal and young stars like Sebastian Aho to make a deep run. Their young core has enough playoff experience to know what it takes to win. They can seriously compete in the postseason this year.
