We are headed into the second to last race before the playoffs begin. It’s been a crazy season thus far, and if you think the crazy is about to let up, then you are so wrong, my friend. It is a road course race, nothing is guaranteed here for us as fans. Or even the teams when they go bowling at the Glen! The cup series teams are doing their best to get ready. So we should do our part as well!

The Craziness Ahead

It’s hard to argue with the craziness behind us right? There have been fifteen completely different race winners this season. One of those being last week’s winner Kevin Harvick, whose oh yeah going for three in a row. Let’s begin with that I guess. The closer is heating up at the right time. Are we about to witness a comeback unlike no other? You’d also be right if you said but that’s not all, Chris! Because your right that’s not all, not when we go bowling at the Glen!

One of the drivers trying to get that last playoff spot is Martin Truex Jr. Whose won before at the Glen, but due to the next-gen car has struggled to this point at the road course races this year. He was even quoted as saying:

“the road courses have been our biggest struggle, at Joe Gibbs Racing”

Martin Truex Jr. response when asked about performance on road courses.

Doesn’t seem like a guy with too high of confidence to me, but hey “to each their own” right? This is why he gets paid to drive the car and I just write about it for fun. His closest counterpart and currently in that last playoff spot is Ryan Blaney. Blaney, who hasn’t won here, has posted one top-five and two top-ten finishes. Could he lock up his playoff spot? It’s always possible. Just like it’s possible a complete surprise winner could take that spot from him. Chris Buescher, or is it technically possible Christopher now? He could absolutely show up as he did at Sonoma and win stealing the spot away. So the crazy ahead is only just beginning tomorrow when we go bowling at the Glen.

Bowling at the Glen Isn’t Easy

When bowling at the Glen, you better be on your game as a driver. You are constantly required to shift up and down while navigating what some would call the “superspeedway of road courses.” Your crew has to be on their game each and every time they see you on pit road. A lot of factors go into a flawless road course race. So who can you count on tomorrow? Who should you bet on? Well, a few obvious picks are Elliott, Reddick, and Chastain. From there I’m not very sure of where to go especially after qualifying. You’ve got Mcdowell, Allmendinger, Buescher, and Cindric all starting in the top ten for tomorrow’s race.

The green flag is set to drop at 3 PM tomorrow and will be on USA Network, so I suggest you all tune in and watch because I know that I will be. Plus who doesn’t love these radio broadcasts?! They take the viewing experience up a notch in my opinion.
