Signing Patrice Bergeron was not the only move the Bruins have announced today. The Bruins have also officially announced that they have re-signed David Krejci. If only they announced both moves at the same time.

Krejci Is Czeching Back In

David Krejci

In 2021, David Krejci decided to return to play in Czechia. Many assumed that this meant Krejci was done in the NHL. However, rumors began to circulate at the beginning of 2022 free agency that the Bruins were looking at bringing back their veteran second-line center.

Now though, Krejci has officially signed in Boston. This time to a one-year deal worth $1 million. After struggling to fill his spot in 2021-22, the Bruins, I guess, decided just to bring back the man they were having trouble replacing. Similar to Patrice Bergeron‘s deal, Krejci also took a team-friendly offer. The Bruins are definitely now looking to go all in this one last time.

Ok, So Will They Sign Zacha Today Too?

David Krejci

Given that they announced Krejci’s signing pretty much as soon as I was done writing about Bergeron’s signing, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Bruins weren’t done today. A Pavel Zacha signing is most likely coming very soon. Now that the Bruins have their two top centers locked down, they can tell Zacha exactly how much money they can work with.

The Bruins now have around $1.5 million to work with for the upcoming season. So I would not be surprised if Zacha’s eventual deal will be around that price per year. If today is anything to go by, they will also announce Zacha’s deal as soon as I’m done writing this.
