The Bruins have been very busy this Monday. After re-signing both Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci, the Bruins have signed a restricted free agent, Pavel Zacha. Hopefully, they decide to wait a bit before making any other big news.

Zacha Is Officially A Bruin

Of the three signings today, Pavel Zacha‘s was the least surprising of them. After the Bruins acquired his rights for Erik Haula from New Jersey, everyone assumed that Pavel Zacha would eventually sign. However, the Bruins decided to wait until their two other big signings of the offseason were taken care of. Zacha’s new contract came right on the heels of the signings of Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci, which says that the Bruins did indeed want to know how much money they would be working with if both of their veteran centers came back.

Zacha’s deal is a one-year deal for $3.5 million. Most likely a potential bridge deal with the current cap situation of the Bruins. Zacha is still young but has experience. He could be a solid piece in the post-Bergeron era. Or the Bruins may just really only need him for this one year in order to load up for one last cup run with this core.

Will There Be More News Today?

Given how today has gone, as soon as I am finished writing this article, the Bruins will have made another big move. Could it be an extension for David Pastrnak? Or what about a trade for a big-name player? I believe that for now the Bruins are done. All three of these signings are exciting but at this point, everyone knew they were coming. The Bruins just so happened to announce them all within the same day. And at staggered times to intentionally make some statements in my articles immediately outdated. But besides that, today has been a very good day for Bruins fans.
