The first-ranked Georgia Bulldogs are headed to Columbia Missouri this weekend to take on the Missouri Tigers. The Tigers are coming off a close game last weekend against Auburn. While the Bulldogs are coming off of what some would say has been their worst game this season against Kent State of all teams. So, for many people, the question is will we see the Bulldogs dominate the Tigers? Or can the Tigers give them a run for their money? Let’s cover a few players and things to watch heading into the Saturday night game.

More Consistency?

Last week we saw the Bulldogs come out hot. Their star tight-end Brock Bowers rushed for two touchdowns. Yes, you read that correctly a tight end had rushing touchdowns. However last week’s close game with Kent State was due to a lot of inconsistency on both sides of the ball for the top-ranked Bulldogs. Wide-out Ladd McConkey coughed the ball up a few times, Stetson threw an INT, and the defense while strong still had a few missed tackles.

The Missouri Tigers saw strong performances from running back Nathaniel Peat, and receiver Dominic Lovett. These two alone accounted for all but one hundred of Missouris’s over three hundred yards total offensive yards. So, if the Bulldog’s defense isn’t prepared this Tigers team has the playmakers to burn them. Now the Bulldog’s offense shouldn’t really have any issues with this Missouri defense. On average their defense is allowing three hundred yards a game. Where the Bulldog’s offense is averaging over five hundred a game so on paper no problem, but it’s college football.

Bulldogs and Tigers to Watch

Even though I’m a born and raised Georgia guy, I’m also a fan of the sport of football. So let’s start with a Tiger to keep your eye on during tomorrow’s game. If your looking for the bright spots on this Tiger’s team then look no further than receiver Dominic Lovett. He’s actively leading the SEC in receiving yards. He also is third in the conference for targets, which is crazy considering he’s only played one hundred and thirty-five snaps this season. If the Tigers are going to compete with Georgia they need to put this man at the forefront of their game plan tomorrow.

You can’t have a players-to-watch list for this Georgia team and not add Brock Bowers. He’s Stetson’s favorite target leading the team in receiving yards. Oh yeah, did we mention already he has two RUSHING touchdowns on the year? Yeah, this man is a mismatch for the Tiger’s defense. It should be fun to watch them try and stop him.

Bulldogs running back Kenny McIntosh was an extremely versatile option last week before leaving the game with an injury. He’s expected to play this week, however, it’s unsure how much time he will get on the field. If he’s able and at one hundred percent then you should watch out. The offensive coordinator and quarterback alike are starting to notice the reliability he brings to the field much like current Buffalo Bills running back James Cook brought to the team last season.

Where and Why Watch

First off if you need a reason to watch any college football game well you might be in the wrong place. However, It’s going to be interesting seeing this Georgia team coming out of the locker room. They have seen the headlines all week. They underestimated Kent State, and almost paid the price. I expect these players to want to come out and dominate another SEC east opponent. I think ultimately these Bulldogs will leave Columbia still on top.

The game is scheduled right now for 7:30 PM eastern time on Saturday. It will be aired on the SEC Network.
