At American West Arena in Phoenix on May 9, 2005, Canadian point guard Steve Nash proudly displayed his NBA Finals MVP trophy before his team’s matchup with the Dallas Mavericks. Nash had a Hall of Fame tenure in the NBA, where he was an eight-time All-Star. His 2005 MVP award made him the first Canadian to win the award, and his 2006 MVP award, both while playing for the Phoenix Suns, made him the first player in league history to win the award twice.
