The 2023 Canadian Rally Championship kicks off this weekend with Rally Perce-Neige. Find out who will be at the season opener and what can you expect this weekend.

Looking For An Early Lead

Reigning Canadian Rally Champion Jerome Mailloux will look to take an early championship lead this weekend. Mailloux’s TEST Racing teammate Olivier Martel will likely look to improve on his second-place result last season. Jean-Sébastien Besner will likely look to stop any TEST Racing driver from taking the early lead.

TEST Racing Rundown

Joining the reigning Canadian Rally Champion Jerome Mailloux will be TEST Racing teammates Olivier Martel, Marc-Andre Brisebois and William Pardiac. Mailloux and Pardiac will both drive 2010 Subaru STI TR-GRD’s. Martel will drive an older Subaru STI TR, while Brisebois will drive a Subaru TR-GD. TEST Racing will look to once again lock out the podium this weekend. Much like they did during the 2022 running of Rally Perce-Neige. Marc-Andre Brisebois will return to rally after his 2022 season was cut short due to a knee injury. Costing him his chances of placing top three in the championship two years in a row. Mailloux will enter the season looking to continue where he left off in 2022. Mailloux has already won an event this season, an event not part of the Canadian Rally Championship, however. As Mailloux would take home the 4WD Rally Class win at Nitro Rallycross Quebec last month.

Who Else Will Be There?

Joining the TEST Racing crew in the Open 4WD class will be names such as Jason Bailey, Jean-Sébastien Besner and Alexandre Moreau. Besner will look to get off to a good start this season after finishing third in the championship last season, one point behind Olivier Martel.

2WD Rundown

Mathieu Leblanc will look to take an early lead in the 2WD Drivers Championship. Joining Leblanc in the 2WD Class will be Kurtis Duddy and Mathieu Royer in Nissan Sentra’s. Chris Greenhouse in his Dodge Neon SRT4 and Sean McConnachie in his Ford Fiesta ST.
