As of now, the Lamar Jackson situation hasn’t changed. I decided to take a look at which teams could be his best destination, assuming he is trying to get on a new team.
Although most teams could, not every team is in a position to go after him.
Packers
With what’s going on in their world, the Packers would be a great candidate. They aren’t all in on Jordan Love. If Green Bay has the money (they do) to spend, they should. Most players would be honored to play for their organization. Lamar Jackson would take their already great run game to new heights.
Patriots
This would be unexpected but I think that Lamar Jackson on the Patriots could be a possibility. I think he could play more than just quarterback. How about the Patriots keep Mac Jones and put Lamar all over the place? Running back, wide receiver, quarterback, you name it.
I Honestly think Lamar could succeed all over the football field, but that is another discussion.
I think Mac would be open to being considered the backup quarterback to Lamar. I’m sure he would still have to play each season with Lamar’s injury-prone style of play. They would both contribute to the team.
According to the New York Post, the Pats are favored actually to land him. I’m not so sure about that.
Washington Football Team
This seems like the most realistic option. The Football team is well-built and adding Lamar Jackson would solve almost all of their past issues.
But it seems too good to be true, for WFT. Lamar Jackson might be too cool for them.
Atlanta Falcons
I don’t know why the Falcons aren’t being more aggressive. They are a young team full of potential stars. Lamar Jackson would fit in perfectly with the city and the team culture.
Jets
With how long this Aaron Rodgers deal is taking the Jets may just be better off going after Lamar Jackson. He provides a lot more security for the next 4-5 years compared to Aaron.
Bucs
Lastly, I don’t know why the Bucs decided to go with Baker Mayfield with Lamar Jackson available.
The Bucs still have a great roster to compete with even with Brady retired. I think adding Lamar puts them right back in the Super Bowl discussion. That discussion hasn’t popped up yet with Baker.
In conclusion, I think many teams in the NFL would get better by adding Lamar to their team. I’m not sure why they’re isn’t more urgency all around the NFL.
