Eight weeks down and we have more questions than answers so far in the MLB season. The AL East has every team over .500. The AL Central has only one team over .500. Philidelphia added a big-time Free Agent, yet they are 7.5 games back in the NL East. The Dodgers are first in the NL West while the loaded Padres are 8.5 games back. Teams have had great weeks, followed by horrible ones. Here is how the teams rank based on the last two weeks of play. This is the MLB power rankings for week eight.

1. Houston Astros +15

The Champs are back? Houston ends the week on a six-game win streak, going 9-1 over the last ten games. The return of star Jose Altuve certainly does not hurt either. The Astros jumped to number one this week.

2. Los Angeles Dodgers +3

Ruling the NL West again, the Dodgers have hit their stride this season. With the rest of the division floundering, LA looks to secure the division early.

3. Texas Rangers +13

Refusing to give up the division, the Rangers did just enough to stay on top in the AL West this week.

The Rangers continue to overcome injuries, like the one to Corey Seager, to remain on top in the AL West and come in at third in the MLB power rankings for week eight.

4. Baltimore Orioles -1

The young squad in Baltimore continues to push the Rays. A solid week has them 3.5 back from Tampa and 3.5 ahead of NY.

5. New York Yankees +5

The Yankees have had pitching issues but overcame that with a three-game win streak to close out the week.

6. Boston Red Sox -5

After starting the week rough, the Red Sox finished strong.

7. Tampa Bay Rays -5

The AL East is getting pretty wild right now, as Tampa is the fourth East team in the top ten this week.

8. New York Mets +9

The Mets pulled themselves to .500 this week with a three-game win streak. They are working hard to catch the pesky Braves.

Pete Alonso has the Mets in the fight and in the top ten in this week’s power rankings.

9. Atlanta Braves -5

Injuries do not seem to deter the Braves. Atlanta continues to hold the top spot in the NL East.

10. Detroit Tigers -1

The Tigers may not be World Series contenders, but they are starting to look like they could be pesky all season.

11. Arizona Diamondbacks -3

12. Los Angeles Angels -6

13. St. Louis Cardinals +27

14. Miami Marlins +11

15. Minnesota Twins -3

16. San Francisco Giants -2

17. Philidelphia Phillies +10

18. Chicago White Sox +6

19. Cleveland Guardians +1

20. Pittsburgh Pirates +7

21. Toronto Blue Jays -10

22. Milwaukee Brewers +/-0

23. Seattle Mariners -5

24. Chicago Cubs -11

The return of Fernando Tatis Jr has not been the boost the Padres hoped it would be. San Diego is at 25 in the MLB power rankings for week eight.

25. San Diego Padres -18

26. Washington Nationals -3

27. Colorado Rockies -8

28. Cincinnati Reds -7

29. Kansas City Royals -1

30. Oakland Athletics -1

WTF I get the Astros are on a tear, but to jump 15 spots? WTF. Also TB easily the best team in baseball so far, had a rough week so they are out of the top five even though they are the best team in baseball? Are you kidding? Also the Tigers are a top ten team? They are with in 3 spots of the best team so far this season? and the Cardinals moved ALMOST THE ENTIRE FIELD AFTER A GOOD WEEK!?!?!? I mean I like the Cards, they are my NL team, but do you have darts with team names and you just throw them at the wall?
