The Reds have taken the league by storm, but where do they fit in the power rankings? The fanbase that was screaming for the owner to “sell the team” just three weeks ago, now thinks they are a World Series threat. While the Reds are hot the bottom feeders remain the same. Here are the MLB power rankings for week 13.
1. Tampa Bay Rays +/-0
The lead for Tampa in these rankings is shrinking quickly. That being said they hold onto the number one spot for at least another week. The Rays are starting to get healthy so maybe they will make another run.
2. Atlanta Braves +/-0
Atlanta has been on a tear as of late, winning nine of their last ten games. Clearly, the top team in NL, Atlanta may be the best team in the MLB. Their pitching is still the biggest concern for the Braves, but they have still been the best team in their conference.
3. Texas Rangers +2
Texas has extended its lead in the AL West and continues to prove they are a threat. The Rangers have had the top-scoring differential for most of the season, all without their biggest off-season acquisition of Jacob deGrom. I am officially a believer in Texas.
4. Baltimore Orioles +/-0
Consistency has been the theme for Baltimore so far this season. While they stay close to the Rays in the East, they have not been able to gain ground on them. This team has hit well, but pitching needs to be addressed before the trade deadline.
5. Arizona Diamondbacks -2
Clinging to the top spot in the NL West, Arizona stays in the top five this week. Corbin Carroll is clearly a star, I just hope the rotation does not implode on them.
6. San Francisco Giants +6
The Giants have been climbing for two weeks now, and have pulled within a game and a half of first in the West. This is a team that missed out on big free agents, and where considered sellers just a month ago. Now the Giants have put themselves in a position to make a playoff run.
7. Miami Marlins -1
The Marlins are still in the top ten, but I still do not believe in them. Luis Arraez has been the story but batting average does not win championships.
8. Los Angeles Dodgers -1
The Dodgers will not go away. I believe we will see the LA make at least two big trades in the next few weeks.
9. New York Yankees +/-0
Speaking of making a big trade or two, the Yankees have to address their rotation issues soon. The Aaron Judge injury is bad news, but pitching is still the biggest concern.
10. Toronto Blue Jays +1
Toronto has jumped back into the top ten this week. On paper, the Jays are the most complete team in the AL. They have not lived up to the hype just yet, but their time is coming. A solid week against Miami and Oakland has them headed in the right direction again.

15. Minnesota Twins -2
16. Philadelphia Phillies +/-0

25. Detroit Tigers +1
26. St. Louis Cardinals -1
27. Colorado Rockies +1
