Martin Truex Jr had a memorable and meaningful Nascar Cup victory on Monday afternoon. He was leading the pack for 254 laps. He was in charge of the race and finally earned himself a win. I say finally because he is third all-time in laps lead at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, only behind Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart.

This was his first time finishing in first place. His Toyota was running great. I think that Truex Jr has a great chance of winning the Championship after that performance and so does Vegas. He is now the betting favorite. Truex Jr was the Nascar Champion back in 2017.

Nascar, as a sport, has gone under the radar in mainstream sports media. The sport has a great foundation and culture established.

I am ready to step into the world of Nascar myself. I grew up watching it. There are plenty of reasons to get back into it. The cars are fast, the races run long, and there is plenty of opportunity to make picks. I made a pick on the championship back in February.

As of today, Kyle Busch is ranked as the 3rd overall driver by Nascar. The Crayon 301 didn’t help him as he did not finish the race after smashing into the wall.

Looking Forward: Pocono Raceway

Looking forward there are 6 remaining races before the start of the postseason. One great thing about these races is that they take place on Sundays until the season finale. The next race is at Pocono Raceway on the 23rd.

Special Announcement: Nascar Picks have officially arrived on Flawless Picks

I am excited to cheer on Aric Almirola and his Ford at +10000.

Almirola has only won 3 Nascar Cup races in his career despite having over 90 top-10 finishes.

In Monday’s race, his tire gave out while he was in first place. Almirola is currently the 27th Ranked driver & a win at Pocono would go a long way.
