Ross Chastain has become a staple of NASCAR over the last 18 months. From his famous wall ride at Martinsville Speedway last year to help propel him to the final four in Phoenix. Or his on track rivalries either way we’ve all got to see a lot more of Chastain.

Chastain has had an up-and-down year in 2023 though. He’s got six finishes inside the top five, but seven finishes outside the top 20. Two weekends ago though he did pick up his first victory of the year in Nashville winning the Ally 400. He’s a polarizing driver with a ton of talent, so fans have strong opinions on the #1 team both positively and negatively.

The Challenge

Chastain was put to the test by former tennis star John McEnroe on his ESPN+/Omaha Productions series “McEnroe’s Places”. Down at Homestead Speedway, the Cup Series driver was challenged to beat out the serve of tennis star Taylor Fritz in a race to the checkered flag. Chastain drove an ESPN+-sponsored Chevy Camaro stock car, not dissimilar to the one he races in the NASCAR Cup Series every week. Here’s an exclusive look at this week’s episode!

The episode is set to air in the show’s inaugural season, which has already kicked off! Chastain is a member of an exclusive club to this TV show and was able to show a tennis star like McEnroe just what it’s like to be in a car going as fast as his tennis serve.

We’ll see Ross Chastain as he takes on the Quaker State 400 in Atlanta, Georgia on Sunday night. As for Homestead Speedway, they’ll host the Dixie Vodka 400 in October.
