2023 PFL Playoffs Week 9: Media Day; NYC

There are times in ones life when you just wonder why when and how. The answer usually comes from looking inward to ones self. By doing that, you actually look to the greater being. It’s a strong faith that carries Biaggio Ali Walsh. And he didn’t need to look far to find it.

Biaggio Ali Walsh is just one of the great Muhammad Ali grandsons, and older brother to TOP RANK BOXING rising prospect Nico Ali Walsh. In high school at Bishop Gorman he was a slashing type running back. With footwork that would make his grandfather proud. And Walsh also got the taste of being a model. He parlayed his football skills into a college career seeing him play for both Cal and UNLV. But the statistics weren’t at a flashy level. Although, it was more the case of not being used.

It was after that, that destiny stepped in. Once college was done, Walsh felt “free” as anyone in college does once the restraints of regularity are lifted. Las Vegas can be an impressionable town, especially for youth. He openly talks about the wild partying, alcohol, and drugs. There was the feeling of being lost and speeding down a dark path. That’s when the Quran called out to him. And suddenly things fell into place for the Muslim. He found his way into XTREME COUTURE which put him back on the right path.

Faith Carries Biaggio Ali Walsh To Where He Belongs

Always the athlete there’s just a level of hunger, drive, and competitiveness. Back in shape, and feeling right about things he got his first amateur fight. One that he lost. Then as Ali Walsh puts it:

“The revenge juices kicked in and I didn’t sulk and think about going back to the past. I wanted more”.

It was off that loss he was absolutely shocked to find out that the PFL wanted to sign him. Still an amateur the lightweight’s now 4-1 heading into this weeks fight. Not only has he been on a run, but all four are via first-round knockout. His plan is to grab one more before 2023 ends, and then head to the professional side of the ledger. Devoutly he studies the Quran, reads from it before every fight, and speaks as eloquently as his grandfather did about it. Believing in the higher calling for humanity. One has to wonder if Muhammad himself had something to do with it.

He faces a come forward southpaw in Ed Davis who has two-knockouts of his own. Ali Walsh doesn’t only want to have “hands”, and is constantly working on his ground game as well. This is the age of pushing unworthy talent through due to their name (ie the Paul brothers). No name carries more weight than ALI, and they could have played the name game. But at least they’re doing things the right way. Climbing the ladder one step at a time.
