The trade deadline is past, and the race for the playoffs is in full gear. Some teams have pulled away, while others have faltered. Here is the MLB power rankings for week 19.

1. Atlanta Braves +/-0

The first team to 70 wins, Atlanta is the leader in the clubhouse again. This team looks poised to win a World Series, and if I were a betting man, my money would be on them.

2. Baltimore Orioles +/-0

Baltimore did very little at the trade deadline which will come back to haunt them. For now, they stay atop the AL East and at two in these MLB power rankings.

3. Tampa Bay Rays +/-0

The Rays are getting healthy and continue to hang close with the Rays. Tampa made some small moves at the deadline as they look to regain their early season momentum.

4. Texas Rangers +/-0

The Rangers made a big splash by bringing in veteran pitcher Max Scherzer. Texas understood the opportunity in front of them and knew they needed pitching help. I love the addition of Scherzer, but is it enough to hold off the Astros?

5. Houston Astros +1

Houston would not let the Rangers outdue them at the deadline, so they brought back Justin Verlander. The Astros are a dangerous team and are hunting the Rangers every day.

6. LA Dodgers -1

One of the most active teams at the deadline, the Dodgers maintain their lead in the NL West. I do not think they will challenge the Braves, but they are clearly the second-best team in the NL.

7. Toronto Blue Jays +/-0

Toronto has been steady as of late, nothing great, but nothing bad. Their deadline deals should help them finish out the season with a playoff birth, then they just have to get their pitchers hot to make a run through the AL.

8. San Francisco +2

The Giants did not do what was needed at the deadline to make themselves a World Series threat, but they have a firm grip on second place in the NL West and are in a good spot to get a wildcard spot.

9. Milwaukee Brewers -1

The Brewers showed what they can do offensively when they faced the Braves, but the pitching let them down. Getting Brandon Woodruff back and adding Andrew Chafin at the deadline should help them moving forward.

10. Philadelphia Phillies +2

We learned last year the Phillies just have to make it to the playoffs in order to be dangerous. Their deadline acquisition was not massive, but I believe it is enough to secure a wildcard spot.

11. Cincinnati Reds +/-0

12. Seattle Mariners +6

13. New York Yankees +/-0

14. Arizona Diamondbacks -5

15. Boston Red Sox +/- 0

16. Minnesota Twins +/-0

17. Miami Marlins -3

18. LA Angels -1

19. Chicago Cubs +2

20. San Diego Padres +/-0

21. Cleveland Guardians -2

22. New York Mets +/-0

23. Detroit Tigers +/-0

24. Pittsburgh Pirates +1

25. St. Louis Cardinals -1

26. Washington Nationals +1

27. Chicago White Sox -1

28. Colorado Rockies +/-0

29. Kansas City Royals +/-0

30. Oakland Athletics +/-0

“Baltimore did very little at the trade deadline which will come back to haunt them. For now, they stay atop the AL East and at two in these MLB power rankings.”

What? Literally all the teams who “did something” have been on massive losing streaks and appear to have overpaid for mediocre guys.

The Orioles doing very little is appearing to be very smart. Not to mention, Flaherty looks far better than the likes of Giolito….
