The New York Giants (0-1) vs. the Arizona Cardinals (0-1) will take place at State Farm Stadium. Both teams are coming off disappointing losses in Week 1, and they will be looking to turn things around here in week 2. The Giants entered the week as 4.5-point road favorites but have seen the spread decrease to -4. With both teams hungry for a win, this game promises to be an exciting and competitive battle.

When it comes to the quarterback matchup, the Giants will rely on Daniel Jones, who struggled in Week 1. The newly-paid quarterback had two interceptions on a rainy night against the Cowboys. On the other side, the Cardinals will be led by Joshua Dobbs, who also had a rough outing in week 1 against the Washington Commanders.

The Giants’ stat leaders include running back Saquon Barkley, who had 51 rushing yards in Week 1, and tight end Darren Waller, who recorded 36 receiving yards. Meanwhile, the Cardinals’ top performers were running back James Conner, who rushed for 62 yards, and wide receiver Rondale Moore, with 33 receiving yards. These players will play a crucial role in their respective teams’ offensive strategies.

In their last meeting, Arizona beat New York 26-7 at MetLife Stadium in 2020.

QB Matchup

Daniel Jones and Joshua Dobbs will go head-to-head in this matchup. While both quarterbacks had a disappointing Week 1, Jones has shown promise in the past and could bounce back with a strong performance. After all, he is 7-1-1 coming off a loss since last year. Dobbs, on the other hand, will need to prove himself as a reliable starter for the Cardinals. Otherwise, Clayton Tune will be breathing down his neck.

Betting Insights

For those looking to place bets on this game, the spread currently sits at -4 in favor of the Giants. The moneyline offers odds of -200 for the Giants and +180 for the Cardinals. Additionally, the over/under is set at 37.5 points. Considering the Giants’ rough start and the Cardinals’ home advantage, betting on the Cardinals to cover the spread might be a smart choice for those looking to increase their chances of a successful bet.

Fantasy Insights

In terms of fantasy football, fantasy managers should pay attention to players such as Saquon Barkley from the Giants and James Conner from the Cardinals. Despite Barkley’s limited production in Week 1, he remains a top-tier running back who could have a breakout performance against the Cardinals’ defense. Conner, as the primary rusher for the Cardinals, has the potential to produce solid fantasy numbers and should be considered a viable option for fantasy lineups.

Final Thoughts

The Giants need to win this game. After an embarrassing loss against the Dallas Cowboys, there’s no way you enter this game with a calm and conservative mindset. Being the only team to not score a point in week 1, the offense needs to step on the gas early and not let up. Whether that means throwing the ball deep to Darius Slayton or Darren Waller early, anything works for me. Also, get Saquon Barkley involved early and often too. We saw how that worked on the first drive against Dallas.

With Dobbs’s struggles as the signal-caller, New York must take advantage of getting to him. Washington was able to do that last week, and the Giants must replicate that success. After all, you can’t allow 40 points for a second straight week right? Right?

In all, this is a winnable game for Big Blue. It’s a must-win game. Falling to 0-2 heading to Santa Clara to face the 49ers on Thursday night? Not a great outlook.

Giants vs. Cardinals will end in a 20-17 for Big Blue.
