Week six of the NFL season is in the books. Let’s take a look at the scenario if the NFL playoffs started today. We told you last week that teams that begin 5-0 are as close to a lock to make it. Unfortunately, we do not have any 6-0 teams in 2023. 0-6 Carolina does not have a first round draft pick in ’24, so they may actaully play out the season. 1-5 means lights out, folks, as there are five teams jockeying for the top of next year’s class. Take this all with a grain of salt. With the recent expansion to 17 games and seven playoff spots, anything can happen in the NFL.

AFC

East

?? Miami Dolphins (5-1): #2 seed. Tough part of the schedule coming. Let’s see if they are for real or just like beating up on the “B” teams.

? Buffalo Bills (4-2): #5 seed should stay stalking the top of the division with favorable schedule.

New York Jets (3-3): J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS. That defense is putting the league on watch.

New England Patriots (1-5): Belichick down to 11 post-game pressers left.

North

?? Baltimore Ravens (4-2): #3 seed. QB looks like he hasn’t lost a step. Game of the week vs. Lions.

? Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2): #6 seed off the bye visit a Rams team that looks ready to make a run.

? Cleveland Browns (3-2): #7 seed may be in for a bounce this week at Colts after slaying the dragon in the Dog pound. This team is solid.

Cincinnati Bengals (3-3): Rest your injured QB who barely throws 10-yard passes. Go to angry 49ers this week. Tough stretch of games ends their playoff hopes soon.

South

?? Jacksonville Jaguars (4-2): #4 Tottenham Jaguars got in done back on this side of the pond. Schedule is rough through November in this back-and-forth division.

Indianapolis Colts (3-3): Franchise QB is injured for the year. Minshew mania came back to life after throwing 55 times. Big test this week.

Houston Texans (3-3): May just rise to top with their upcoming schedule.

Tennessee Titans (2-4): Rough schedule. Time for a new QB?

West

?? Kansas City Chiefs (5-1): #1 seed. Due for letdown after cupcake schedule before having to play football in November.

Las Vegas Raiders (3-3): Don’t let the record fool you. Horrible.

Los Angeles Chargers (2-3): Need to dump the coach even if they catch Chiefs sleeping.

Denver Broncos (1-5): Time for the QB to step aside and give reps to someone else.

NFC

East

?? Philadelphia Eagles (5-1): #2 seed. A very unorganized 5-1 team.

? Dallas Cowboys (4-2): #5 seed. Good win against a shaky Chargers team. Bye week will give nice rest.

Washington Commanders (3-3): Schedule is brutal. Team to watch to grab a playoff spot.

New York Giants (1-5): Best player on the field with game on the line and you throw a jump pass? Fire the coaches. Same one-dimensional team year after year.

North

?? Detroit Lions (5-1): #3 seed getting it done. Big road game at Ravens to flex.

Green Bay Packers (2-3): Off the bye. Will they need another 4th quarter comeback at Broncos this week?

Minnesota Vikings (2-4): Cousins sugar-rush from winning Cupcake Bowl comes crashing hard with 49ers coming to town off a loss.

Chicago Bears (1-5): Back-up QB can prove his worth this week with Raiders visiting.

South

?? Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-2): #4 seed rough road ahead after not showing up after the bye.

Atlanta Falcons (3-3): If they only could be a little more consistent.

New Orleans Saints (3-3): The division is theirs to lose. They just need a quality win.

Carolina Panthers (0-6): Bryce Young finally showing signs of life at quarterback.

NFL

NFC West:

?? San Francisco 49ers (5-1): #1 seed. The NFL wasn’t ready for the first 17 game winner.

? Seattle Seahawks (3-2): #6 seed. Blow two chances deep in Bengals territory. This team is hard to figure out year after year.

? Los Angeles Rams (3-3): #7 seed. Get no offense Steelers in their backyard this week after a few games with a healthy team. Unfortunately, their rising star running back is now injured. A balanced schedule rest of way keeps them honest.

Arizona Cardinals (1-5): Past three weeks hasn’t been fun since whipping the Cowboys.
