Well, did your driver survive the Roval madness? Or was he beaten by everyone else favorite driver? Either way, the NASCAR Cup Series is headed to Las Vegas this week. So, that means we have to update these NASCAR Power Rankings before the green flag flies in Las Vegas.
The Bottom Five
- 15. Alex Bowman
Since the Indy Road course, Alex has only finished outside the top fifteen three times. Alex was one of the most consistent drivers before his injury and in ten starts with HMS at Las Vegas Alex has one win and only finished outside the top twenty three times. Seems they are definetly on the climb up.
- 14. Martin Truex Jr.
The NASCAR Power Rankings fall continues for the regular season champion. Still no top ten finishes for MTJ. Some how though this team scraped into the round of eight.
- 13. Kyle Busch
Rowdy, had a rough start to the playoffs but was able to grab a third place finish last week at the Roval.
- 12. Joey Logano
Honestly the Penske camp as a group has been up and down. Joey was able to squeeze out a top five finish at the roval and he’s won in Vegas multiple times.
- 11. Bubba Wallace
While he got eliminated from the playoffs. It wasn’t not due to lack of effort. Bubba seemed to be around but for him being around wasn’t enough in the playoffs.
The Middle of The Pack
- 10. Ross Chastain
Another driver who was eliminated last week, but it seems as though maybe his team has found some speed they didnt have consistently enough before this point.
- 9. Chase Elliott
In the 25 races he’s competed in this season he’s only finished outside the top fifteen four times. Try and tell me he doesn’t deserve to be in the top ten of these NASCAR Power Rankings.
- 8. Ryan Blaney
A win at Talladega and then was able to grab a top fifteen at the Roval. He starts twelvth tomorrow and Team Penske does know how to win at Vegas as I said before.
- 7. Brad Keselowski
It was a rough day at the Roval for Brad, seemed like he just got stuck in traffic like a lot of people did. It didnt help none though he had to serve a pass thru penalty either.
- 6. Tyler Reddick
While Texas, and Talladega were not kind to Tyler. A sixth place finish at the Roval is just what the racing doctor ordered.
NASCAR Power Rankings Top Five
- 5. Christopher Bell
The last two races haven’t been as good for Bell but still they’ve been top fifteen finishes. Seems as though they are here to compete since he grabbed another pole award for tomorrows race.
- 4. Kyle Larson
Kyle has had a rough in comparison past three weeks. His last three finishes have been 31st, 15th, and 13th. A front row start tomorrow though could be what he needs to shake those off.
- 3. Chris Buescher
I wasn’t surprised at all to see Chris in the top ten at the conclusion of the Roval. Starting fifth tomorrow, easily puts this team in contention to compete for a win.
- 2. Denny Hamlin
The Roval wasn’t a good showing for Denny with him finishing outside the top five for the first time in a few weeks. He starts fifteenth tomorrow.
- 1. William Byron
For the third consecutive week William finished inside the top two. He won here in the Spring, and starts third tomorrow. Win number seven, is in site for Willy B.
Pre-Vegas Wrap Up
Las Vegas is a fast track, with a lot of speed to be had if the car is set up right. If you’re looking for a few safe picks well look no further than any of the top five drivers on this list. If you are looking for a sleeper pick or two. Keep an eye on Alex Bowman, Kyle Busch, and even Martin Truex Jr.
Alex has won here before, and has been a lot more consistency as of late. Kyle has the highest finishing average among active drivers currently and just behind him on that list is Martin Truex. Any of those three guys really could use a win and seem to at least have a little bit of speed for tomorrows race.
The South Point 400 at Las Vegas is set to go green around 2:30 PM EST on NBC. Will you be watching? You know I will!
