In the world of sports, the heartbeat of any game is the fan base. Win or lose, most fans usually do not dump their home team and root for anyone else but them. Say hello to California. It may just be the worst state when it comes to loyalty. The Oakland Raiders already left. The San Diego Chargers moved north to L.A. The Rams tried a new home in St. Louis and then came back again to L.A. I guess they just do not care for NFL teams from California anywhere in the United States. That is why Mexico City is the place to start fresh.

Some NFL Games Are Destination Events

The Raiders tried their fresh start in Vegas and it wound up transforming games into destination events for NFL fans. Games played at the Raiders home field fill up with fans mainly rooting for the road team. The same can be said for the two L.A. football teams. For some reason, the crowd’s energy always leans in favor of the away teams. The celebrities seem to go to the games only when their team is visiting that week. There is little to no loyalty. Why not take a shot and go to where people may actually care?

Mexico

The 1968 Olympics were held in Mexico City. The 1970 and 1986 World Cup Finals were played there. Estadio Azteca is the stadium that holds well over 80,000 fans. The most recent NFL game there was in November 2022. The game featured the San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals. There were 78,427 in attendance. Not too bad.

Mexico

The Mexico City Grand Prix is an annual global racing event that brings in hundreds of millions of dollars to the country. The 2023 race is scheduled this weekend from October 27-29.

Legendary Athletes from Mexico

Mexico isn’t just about stadiums and tracks. The country boasts boxing greats such as Julio Cesar Chavez and Canelo Alvarez. UFC champion Alexa Grasso did the unthinkable and beat Valentina Schevchenko. The list of soccer stars is extensive. Who can forget Fernando Valenzuela? Mexico has consistently produced legendary athletes who have earned global admiration.

The capital city of Mexico is rich in history and culture. Without a doubt, it is primed to become the destination for NFL fans. It’s not just about the games. It’s about the entire experience. Mexico City’s passionate fan base and the unwavering commitment to their teams make it the perfect place to relocate the NFL. In any case, we don’t need two teams in L.A. Moreover, you can stuff any team in Vegas and the fans will make their way to the stadium.
