Get ready for another Thanksgiving Day showdown between the Washington Commanders (4-7) and the Dallas Cowboys (7-3). The Commanders are coming off a tough loss and only have four days to recover before taking on the Cowboys’ solid defense. They’ll need their starting quarterback, Sam Howell, to step up and lead the charge. Meanwhile, the Cowboys, led by Dak Prescott, boast one of the top defenses in the league. It’s going to be an intense battle between these NFC East rivals, so make sure to get your bets (and turkey) ready.

Let’s start with the quarterbacks. Dak Prescott has the statistical edge here. He’s thrown for 2,604 yards and 19 touchdowns this season, with a sweet passer rating of 104. Sam Howell, on the other hand, has put up 3,038 yards and 18 touchdowns, but he’s also thrown 12 interceptions. Prescott’s experience and ability to take care of the ball give him the upper hand in this matchup.

Now, if we look at the leaders in key stats, the Commanders have Brian Robinson as their main rusher with 558 yards and 5 touchdowns. Terry McLaurin leads the team in receiving with 644 yards and two touchdowns. On the Cowboys’ side, Tony Pollard is their rushing leader, with 590 yards and three touchdowns. Pollard has not been as electric as we thought at the beginning of the season. Maybe last week’s game can be the start of a bounce-back. Let’s not forget about CeeDee Lamb, the receiving beast who has racked up 1,013 yards and 5 touchdowns. These guys are the playmakers who will determine the outcome of this game, so keep your eyes peeled.

Just to refresh your memory, the Commanders crushed the Cowboys with a 26-6 victory in their last matchup during Week 18 of the previous season. This game is a fresh opportunity for the Cowboys to seek revenge and show their dominance in the division. After all, they boast one of, if not the, best defenses in the NFL.

Bet Like a Champ

The spread for this game currently favors the Cowboys by -6.5 points. If you’re feeling confident in the Cowboys’ ability to stomp all over the Commanders, then take them against the spread. The money line is set at -300 for the Cowboys and +250 for the Commanders. And for all you risk-takers out there, the over/under is set at 47.5 points. With the Commanders struggling lately, it seems like a safe bet to roll with the Cowboys and their tough defense.

  • Sam Howell over 15.5 rushing yards: The quarterback has hit the over in three of the past five games. This includes 35 yards on Sunday against the Giants defense. With Dallas likely to bring the pressure consistently, Howell should be able to scramble out of trouble and get yardage with his legs.
  • Ceedee Lamb over 90.5 receiving yards: Washington has the third-worst passing defense in the NFL, allowing 258.5 yards per game. Lamb had a subpar game last week against the Panthers with just 38 yards. However, he passed his projection in the previous four games before Sunday. Look for Lamb to get back on track and feast against a suspect secondary.
  • Brandin Cooks over 34.5 receiving yards: This is a steal. With Cooks starting to heat up and be a solid WR2 opposite of Lamb, this is an easy prop to go over. He has hit this four of the past five times, including 42 yards against Carolina and 173 against the Giants.
