The Miami Dolphins are our next stop in our mock draft series. They don’t have many needs, but let’s see who they add at the end of the day.

If there was one glaring need in Miami, it was the defensive line. That’s addressed immediately in round one with the selection of Newton. He recorded eight sacks in 2023, grading out at 84.9 according to PFF. Also, the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year in 2023, his quickness and ability to get off blocks make up for his small size (6’1″, 300 lbs). The defensive tackle will be productive at the next level thanks to his pass-rush tools and block-shedding ability.

In round two, we add another defensive piece in Elliss. He’s a smart edge rusher, disciplined with fast hands, and just a complete difference-maker. No wonder he had 13 sacks in 2023. Elliss is a shifty player, and if he does add weight, he will be even more powerful.

Then, the front office has a break until day three. Why not add more defensive linemen, as Davis was highly-graded according to PFF in 2023? He is a solid run defender and brings a solid bull rush to the table.

Barner brings tight end depth behind Jonnu Smith, and the Miami Dolphins also adds wide receiver depth with the addition of Washington.
