Boston now sits above .500 and in the race for the third wild card. They are playing an exciting brand of baseball in all aspects. The Red Sox are menacing on the base pads and swinging hot bats.  Their defense is middle of the pack but they play well enough to help keep them in games. Boston has been good on the road this year as they recently took two of three from Texas Rangers. They scored 22 runs and beat a team at the top of the standings.

The offense has been a strength all season and should continue to produce. They have a deep lineup with everyone contributing. Jarren Duran has been a huge catalyst for the Red Sox’s recent success. He has a line of .355/.423/.629 with ten extra-base hits. It has been fun to watch a young player start to come into his own. Rafael Devers and Connor Wong are also swinging hot bats. The bullpen has been holding steady and the rotation is starting to pitch better.

Their pitching could make or break them during this team. They need to give them more quality starts and close-out games. The bullpen has been bolstered with the new players they received at the deadline. Also, Boston gave itself a fighting chance with the two pitchers they acquired at the trade deadline. They bolstered the bullpen adding Luis Garcia and Lucas Sims in separate deals.

31 of the Red Sox’s next 37 games are against teams with winning records. Watching this team come to life and play to their potential has been fun. They need their pitching to step up and their offense to remain consistent in the Red Sox race for the wild card. Stay tuned for MLB news and stories.
