It’s hard to believe there are less than forty regular season games in the 2024 season. Therefore, it’s a good time to focus on top storylines that will define the rest of the season.
With less than six weeks left of the season, nothing is certain yet. Teams are still fighting for the division, player records, and the down of the White Sox. Here are some stories to watch play out in the regular season’s final weeks.
Top Stories

They have both made it to 70 wins and have an identical win-loss projection. It would be interesting if there was a tie at the end of the season which could make for an intense tiebreaker. Though the Yankees do have a slightly less difficult remaining schedule. There is another battle between the Dodgers and Diamondbacks for the NL West title with a couple of games between them. It’s fun to see some division races instead of blowouts.
Some players are doing some incredible things. The Yankees have a player who could hit 60 home runs for the second time. Aaron Judge is just 18 home runs shy of 60 home runs, two seasons ago he hit a massive 62 home runs. Elly De La Cruz is looking to top career record with sixty stolen bases which is amazing, While Bobby Witt Jr is fighting for his first batting title as he is ahead by a small percentage.
White Sox Downfall

They are playing below expectations with a ,243 winning percentage that translates to a 39-123 record over a 162- game schedule. This means that the White Sox may not even win forty games. No team has ever failed to win forty games in a season before this season. The White Sox have to find a way to win games because this is not a record teams want to break.
The MLB season is in the final stretch with plenty of other interesting stories that will show up. Fans should be excited about what is to come with these stories. The postseason and free agency will be coming soon also. Tune in for more MLB stories and news.
