Committed to Jalen

Philadelphia committed to Jalen Hurts as their franchise quarterback on draft night. Acquiring AJ Brown for first and second-round picks was the steal of the draft. The third-year quarterback was ready and eager for this season; executing and possessing a relentless pursuit to perfecting his craft. The Eagles surged to an 8-0 start to the season thanks to Jalen and the explosive offense. An offense that includes second-year DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, and A.J. Brown! Clearly, the Eagles have coupled this with o-line depth behind a Pro Bowl lineup. Jalen continues with high execution with a lethal passing and rushing game.

The System or The Player

Jalen’s biggest improvement statistically is his passing game; passing for 328 more yards than the year before. Another stat to mention is his passer rating which is measured by how the quarterback throws with completions, interceptions, and touchdowns. Last year was 87.2 compared to this year at 104.6! Incredible to see! Jalen’s running game is lethal as it was last year. 13 touchdowns in 14 games is a testament to Jalen’s rushing attack. Performing well throughout the year is a great start to enter the MVP conversation.

Objection

The MVP voting is based on consistent performances so injuries make it impossible to win. Jalen has missed two games this year due to a shoulder strain in week 15. This opens the door to MVP favorite Patrick Mahomes or underdog Joe Burrow. The excitement behind this year’s playoffs is at an all-time high with new teams and young rivalries. It’s clear that no matter the result we’ll disagree as there is more than one right answer.
