Clemson Tiger Head Coach Dabo Swinney recently talked about his current relationship with his home state of Alabama, which is home to the University of Alabama Crimson Tide, his alma mater who he has happened to defeat in two of the past three National Championships.

During an interview, Dabo was asked if the state of Alabama was going to put up a wall to keep him out, whether it be to keep him from recruiting in-state prospects or even visiting back to where he is from. In response, Dabo had an all-time weird answer.

“I think it was all fun and games early on. It was, ‘Awww, isn’t that sweet?’ and all that stuff. I don’t know about walls, but I am kinda like Osama Bin Dabo,” Swinney said with a laugh. “I have to navigate my way through the caves and back channels to make my way through Alabama these days. They aren’t as happy to see me. But it’s all good. It’s a good problem.” –TigerNet.com

The crazy thing is that I’m sure many Alabama fans have probably actually compared Dabo to a terrorist once or twice. They love their football and don’t take too kindly to losing.

The Clemson Tigers have been the only thing stopping Alabama from winning the last four National Championships, and it’s all due to Dabo Swinney and the way he’s built Clemson into a powerhouse. And guess what? Clemson isn’t going anywhere any time soon thanks to Dabo signing an extension to coach the Tigers through the 2028 season (at a whopping average of $9.3M a year). Dabo Swinney, who is the biggest terrorist in the eyes of Alabama fans, is here to stay.

The CFP semifinals are set for Dec. 28, 2019. One semifinal is the Peach Bowl from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The other semifinal is the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona. The two winners of the semifinals will meet on the second Monday of January in New Orleans on Jan. 13, 2020 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

So if Alabama and Clemson don’t meet in the semifinals this year like they did in 2018, then we will get to see the rematch for the fifth time in the National Championship game (the fourth National Championship match-up between the two schools).
