So apparently Clint Frazier isn’t a big fan of his nickname given to him by Yankee fans. In 2017, the former Indians first round draft pick became known as “Red Thunder” around the club, due to his fiery red hair and thunderous bat speed. However, Frazier recently professed his displeasure with the name on Twitter, saying that he’d prefer a change as the 2019 season approaches.

Most Yankee fans would think that Frazier would be more focused on getting ready for spring training, as he had previously missed most of the 2018 season with lingering concussion symptoms, but nonetheless, I have put together a list of alternative nicknames for the man that the Yankees received after trading away Andrew Miller back in July of 2016.

The number one nickname on the list of Frazier is Chucky. This one should be self-explanatory given Frazier’s fiery red hair and freckles, as he can be very much compared to Andy Barclay’s favorite childhood doll, Chucky. Both have the capability to instill fear in their opponents, although, the worst case scenario for an opposing team is a big hit in September/October, whereas the worst case scenario for a child with this particular doll, is death.

Number two on the list of Frazier is a name that some have clamored for, in “The Panther”. Many fans have clamored for this nickname for Clint, as once again, his fiery red haircut comes into play, as he can easily be paired with a red-armed panther or “red sleeve” as some may say.

The third nickname on the List of Frazier, to no surprise, has to do with his hair, as you all may know by now, it’s kind of his gimmick, and that name is “Red Rocket”. Now, many may pass on this name given that “The Rocket” has been known to be the nickname of former big league great, Roger Clemens, but when you think about it, tossing the word “red” in front of “rocket” gives it new life. This name can also correlate with Red Thunder, as it points out Frazier’s hairstyle, as well as his quickness in bat speed at the dish.

The number four nickname on the list of Frazier is quite simple, and quite honestly a hope of most Yankee fans, as “Cleared Clint” makes the list. Despite all the humor in this article, all Yankee fans really want from Clint Frazier this season is for him to stay healthy and on the field. Frazier spent most of his 2018 campaign on the disabled list with concussion symptoms, after hitting .231 with 4 long balls in 2017. If Clint has no problem staying on the field, the fans will have no problem hooking up the 24-year-old outfielder with a new nickname.

Last but most certainly not least, the fifth name on the list of Frazier, comes from former basketball legend (not really), Brian Scalabrine, as at one point in time, he was known as the “Ginja Ninja”.

Though a funny nickname, as well as a funny list I might add, Clint Frazier should be worrying about impressing his fans on the field, not on Twitter. Given the Yankees deep outfield depth, Frazier could become one of the odd men out this season with the likes of Judge, Hicks, Stanton, and Gardner already claiming their spots, not to mention a returning Jacoby Ellsbury (maybe, we’ll see).

Clint Frazier, despite his displeasure with “Red Thunder”, should be more focused on making a name for himself in the big leagues, than fans making a name for him on Twitter.

The List of Frazier…Stay on the field maaaaaan!
