The Astros were the favorites going into the World Series because they had the advantage on paper. They have what is considering one of the best rotations with Justin Verlander and Zack Greinke. It helps that they won over 100 games for the third consecutive season. The momentum was on the Nationals side this time around.
It was a good World Series matchup that seem to go back and forth. There was a lot of good pitching in this series. Two former CY Young Winners Max Scherzer and Zack Greinke faced off in game 7. The Nationals found a way to get the lead then they held the Astros for the rest of the game.
