Scouting Notes

  • Hand placement and strength are perfect.
  • Vertical mobility is great for his size.
  • Massive frame, a true “hog-mama”. He looks like an NFL player with his size.
  • Severe motor issues. Torrence gives up on plays way too easily.
  • Terrible habit of turning to see the ball instead of keeping his head in the play.
  • Completely lack quickness, explosiveness and twitch.

Short Summary

When you watch film, O’Cyrus Torrence immediately jumps out at you. He looks like a men among boys with his massive stature, it’s hard to imagine him be an unsuccessful NFL player. When you dive into the tape, however, the concerns begin to mount.

Aside from all the issues written above, he is also a poor athlete, and he is too old to be this fundamentally flawed. He seems to have deeply ingrained instincts that are severely counter-productive.

There is a lot to work on with O’Cyrus Torrence. I can understand wanting him on your team merely for his size and imposing stature, but my hopes aren’t high that Torrence will develop into a quality NFL starter.
