No one could have predicted how crazy of a week the MLB has had. The Yankees are last in the AL East, the Pirates are atop the NL Central. It is time to rank where teams sit in the MLB power rankings for week five.
1. Pittsburgh Pirates +3
Anyone can beat the Nationals, but the Pirates also took the series against the Dodgers this week. Jumping to the top of this week’s rankings is a nod to how well this team has played this month.
2. Baltimore Orioles +2
A four-game series against the Tigers was helpful to jump the Orioles in the rankings. The young roster is holding its own in the AL East as well.
3. Tampa Bay Rays -2
The Rays have been dethroned in these power rankings, but they are still playing some really good baseball.
4. Miami Marlins +3
Sitting in third in the NL East but winning their last four games, the Marlins take another step up in the rankings this week.
5. Philidelphia Phillies +5
After an incredibly slow start this season, the Phillies are looking like the team we thought they would be. Still, a ways to go, but they are looking like a tough out when the playoffs come.
6. Toronto Blue Jays +7
The Jays are part of a jumbled AL East, but they had a terrific week, winning a series against Seattle and the Whitesox.
7. Los Angeles Dodgers +9
The Dodgers pulled even with Arizona this week and will look to take over the NL West this week.
8. Atlanta Braves +/-0
The Braves had a long weekend due to rain, but one win over the Mets and three over the Marlins have them steady at eight this week.
9. Minnesota Twins +10
Big risers this week, the Twins are in control in the AL Central for now.
10. Milwaukee Brewers -8
Taking the series over the Angels is a good way to end the week, as the Brewers still await a healthy rotation.

12. Texas Rangers -6
13. San Diego Padres +5
14. Arizona Diamondbacks +/-0
15. Houston Astros -6
16. New York Mets -11
17. Los Angeles Angels +3
18. New York Yankees -7
19. Seattle Mariners -2
20. Cincinnati Reds +7
21. San Francisco Giants +3
22. Washington Nationals +3
23. Chicago Cubs -11
