It turns out that Ronda Rousey was backstage on SmackDown Live last Tuesday. She was at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California. However, she was not alone. Rousey was on the blue brand show in her home state. She was joined by the rest of the MMA four horsewomen: Marina Shafir, Jessamyn Duke and NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler.
Shafir, Duke, and Baszler perform on the NXT brand. Somewhere in the near future we can see Shayna Baszler making a main roster debut.
Ronda Rousey: What’s Next?
Rousey lost the RAW Women’s Championship to Becky Lynch at Wrestlemania. It was a winner takes all match, and that included the SmackDown Women’s Championship as well. The UFC Hall of Famer broke her hand during the first ever all women’s main event in the history of Wrestlemania. She needed surgery to repair the breaks.
The Baddest Woman on the Planet is currently on a long hiatus. Fitness and healing up is a priority for her, but is not one of the biggest things on her mind. Rousey would like to start a family with her husband Travis Browne. The former women’s champion even hinted at retirement to fully concentrate on her child.
As for WWE plans in the future we want to have a baby first. Don’t know what it’s like to have a baby. I can look down at this beautiful child, and be like F**k everything.
I don’t care about anything else other than this baby, and you will never see me again. Or I could be like my mum who trained while she was 8 months pregnant and then won the US Open(in Juno), six weeks after giving birth. Which is unbelievable. I don’t think I’m going to try and aspire to her level, but I’m just saying you will never know. Thing is I don’t want to make any promises, about the future when I don’t know how I’m gonna feel about the future.
So thank you for your support I had the most amazing time this year. I’m also looking forward to little bit of rest and some mummy-daddy time.
As we all know as fans, more then likely Rousey could return to the WWE after starting her family. Every true and great wrestler like she is will never fully retire just yet. Furthermore, on the behalf of myself I wish Ronda and her husband the best of luck in the future for their child. I hope to see you wrestling again in the WWE.
