Roman Reigns dealt with one of the biggest battles of his life this past year when he tackled Leukemia for the second time. The Big Dog proved that he could handle anything that gets thrown at him and come back swinging. Roman’s life spiraled into chaos once again with not one, but TWO incidents during the past couple of weeks on both Raw and Smackdown Live. The events raised both assumptions and questions as to who was responsible and their motive.
Accident or Intentional?
At the end of the July 30th episode of Smackdown Live, Kayla Braxton prepared to interview Roman as he intended to lay out his challenge for SummerSlam. While walking towards Kayla, she yelled at Roman to look out as lighting grids from a forklift fell on top of him. Reigns rose to his feet and walked away unscathed; however, you could see the confused look on his face as he tried to piece together what happened. After days of processing everything, Roman agreed with the investigation findings from WWE that the incident was accidental.
Rumors began to spread as to possible suspects for the incident. The frenzy became so much that Drew McIntyre even went online to immediately clear his name of any wrongdoing.
Fast forward to this past Monday! Samoa Joe made his way to the ring in an attempt to clear his name as a possible suspect in the Smackdown Live incident. He refused to leave without a public apology from Roman. When he received word that Reigns arrived at the arena, Samoa Joe marched to the parking lot to greet him. The two superstars began to have words when Roman realized he was in trouble again. He immediately jumped back into his vehicle to avoid the car that was coming straight for him. After taking the time to come to grips with the latest incident, Roman knew that these were no accidents and that somebody’s after him!
Who and Why?
The latest edition of Smackdown Live revealed a key piece to the mystery courtesy of Buddy Murphy. After some ‘persuading’ from Roman, Buddy confessed that he saw Rowan around the forklift after the first incident. While a suspect had been identified, many questions still remained – Why was Rowan after Reigns? Was Rowan working alone or with someone else? Was Daniel Bryan involved?
I guess we will all have to stay tuned to find out!
