AEW Dynamite comes to us live from inside the sold out Liacouras Center at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA!
AEW World Championship Match: Jericho (c) vs Allin
Last week on AEW Dynamite, Darby Allin defeated Jimmy Havoc to get a shot at Chris Jericho’s AEW world championship. Allin attacked Jericho last week via skateboarding off the ramp on top of him.
Allin is one of those competitors that has no fear and gives it his all in the ring every night, and tonight is no exception. This is the biggest night of his career, and Allin is ready for the spotlight.
With all of the momentum on Allin’s side, can he pull off the biggest upset in AEW’s short history? Or will Jericho and the Inner Circle prevail once again?
AEW Woman’s Championship Match: Riho (c) vs Baker
Riho, the unlikely champion, won the belt on the very first episode of AEW Dynamite two weeks ago. She pulled off the upset over Nyla Rose and last week, teamed up with the woman that she’s facing one on one tonight for her belt, Britt Baker DMD.
Baker was the first woman to sign to AEW back in the beginning of 2019. Many believed that she’d be the first ever AEW woman’s champion, but wasn’t featured in the first title match.
That’s not the case, and now Baker’s playing the underdog role against the newly crowned champion. Both women are baby faces at the moment, so it’ll be interesting to see how the match goes and what happens after the finish.
AEW Tag Team Tournament Heats Up
Last week, Private Party pulled off the biggest upset in AEW history, pinning the Young Bucks, advancing to the semi-finals and stealing the show in the process.
This week, Jurassic Express, made up of Luchasaurus & Jungle Boy, will face the Lucha Bros, Ray Fenix & Pentagon Jr.
Both teams are fan favorites, but the Lucha Bros need the win here to keep the tournament legitimate. After the Young Bucks got eliminated last week, AEW needs their big star teams still in there.
Omega & Page vs PAC & Moxley
This star-studded tag team match-up has the potential to steal the show. Hangman Page needs to prove himself that he’s got the Elite’s back and that he’s not selfish, like the Bucks and Dustin Rhodes have said on BTE
PAC and Moxley is an interesting pairing. Both men’s characters are very independent and tend to get things done themselves. Seeing how the two will be able to coexist in the ring and as a team will be what to watch for in this match.
