AEW Dynamite comes to us live from inside the sold out Agganis Arena in Boston, MA!
Jon Moxley vs Shawn Spears
Jon Moxley made quite the statement last week, plunging Kenny Omega through a glass table during last week’s main event. Spears was non existent last week.
Moxley left fans buzzing and wanting more for his eventual fight against Omega down the line. It seems as though the match will be booked for Full Gear next month, but remains to be seen.
After his loss to Cody at All Out in Chicago, IL, Shawn Spears needs a win here to get anywhere near title contention. With an 0-1 record, this puts Spears in a must win situation heading into AEW Dynamite tonight.
Darby Allin vs Jimmy Havoc
A match between two guys who just don’t care. These two would rather put staples in each other’s heads than use any type of wrestling hold.
The catch in this match however, is that the winner gets an opportunity to face Chris Jericho for the AEW World championship next week.
With a lot of hype from Allin going into this match, he’s obviously the favorite. He won over fans with his time limit draw match against Cody back at Fight for the Fallen and hasn’t looked back since. While we shouldn’t count Havoc out, AEW seems to have big things in store for the young Darby Allin.
Young Bucks vs Private Party
Let the tag team tournament begin! Tonight marks the first match in AEW’s tournament to crown the first ever AEW World Tag Team champions. The Young Bucks hand picked Private Party to be in this match with them in the first round, and it can’t be anything less than spectacular.
Before AEW Dynamite started, the Bucks and Private Party did battle at a House of Glory show, stealing the show in the process. The match was great and the Young Bucks picked up the win, but can they do it once again? Or is the pressure of being EVP’s of a massive wrestle company going to weigh on them?
Hangman Page & Dustin Rhodes vs Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara
A match announced last week, but set up on this week’s episode of BTE. The main event of the second week of AEW Dynamite is very interesting.
Last week, Page didn’t come out to help his brothers in the Elite during the beat down from Jericho, LAX, Guevara, and the debuting Hager (FKA Jack Swagger). Dustin called Page out after the match and said that he’d make up for it tonight in this tag match.
Guevara really shone during last weeks episode. He had a great match to open the show with Cody, and looks to be one of AEW’s main stars going forward.
While this is an odd pairing on both sides, and none of the four men have ever tagged beside one another before, making the whole situation more intriguing. Will Guevara and Jericho’s egos clash? Is there still animosity between Page and Dustin for Page not helping the Elite last week?
There’s only one way to find out, tune into AEW Dynamite on TNT tonight!
