This is it Xfinity series fans, at 3:30 the green flag will drop and a champion will be crowned. Three out of four of these drivers have been the class of the field seriously all season long. They have won twenty of the 31 races. With one of those drivers grabbing his first win last weekend to claim his spot.

Xfinity Series Championship Four

Xfinity Series Champ four on track

Let’s Start off with going over some basic stats among these four drivers. Why yes I know stats didn’t go very far last night in the truck series finale when Matt Crafton claimed the trophy. Still, these things are glaring and crazy to see.

Champ. 4 Age Av. Start Av. Finish Wins
Custer 21 5.7 9.2 7
Reddick 23 6.2 6.5 5
Bell 24 4.2 9.2 8
Allgaier 33 7.1 8.9 1
Justin Allgaier No. 7 JR Motorsports Camaro
Xfinity series driver Justin Allgaier

Let’s start with what some would say the low man or underdog of these four drivers. Justin was able to win last weekend and take his spot in the championship four. You seen it last night, with Matt Crafton winning the title don’t count anyone out due to lack of year-long wins. Matt and his team were able to work the system to win and Justin and his team can easily do it as well.

Justin in nine starts here at Homestead has grabbed his best two finishes in the last two years. He’s also only led seven laps in those nine starts. Overall though what more momentum does a driver need? He went out and fought with Cole Custer to own his spot for this race. While his qualifying effort of 16th is the worst all year, the veteran driver and team should not be counted out. Experience goes a long way in the spotlight.

The pole-sitter for this afternoon race. Who has arguably even after winning the title last year been the most improved driver this year. He’s proven himself week in and week out multiple times. His hard-headed mentality makes it hard to deny that he could easily win this evening. It also doesn’t hurt that he has closed the deal here before.

Tyler has like I mentioned above proven himself week in and week out at multiple tracks. I was able to witness him serve a pass-through penalty at Bristol while starting from the back of the pack come back and win the race. Not to mention he was able to use fuel mileage to his advantage at Las Vegas, to beat Christopher Bell who had the best car. Then hold off the numerous amounts of threats the final laps at Talladega hold to win a crazy race. Tyler for a lot of people is the choice today.

Cole Custer No. 00 Stewart Haas Mustang
Xfinity series driver Cole Custer

This driver will be on the front row as the green flag drops. He got some of the best news all season this week. He will be following his “big three” companions up to the cup series in the #41. That’s awesome for him and his team because this young man has had as dominant of a year as anyone in the recent history of this series. A championship finish would make his jump up that much sweeter.

Coming into this year, Cole was maybe the underrated guy in the series. He has had solid cars, but only a few wins. Well, boy did he go out and show everyone. Cole was able to deny one of the best in Kyle Busch his 200th career win earlier this year in California. Cole also took advantage of the last corner bobble by Reddick at Pocono to win. He finished second last year to Tyler, losing the title by one spot. That sting of defeat isn’t one you forget easily. Cole can easily win this title and race with a solid car which he appears to have after qualifying.

Christopher Bell No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Supra
Christopher Bell

The only former truck series champion competing for a title today. Which is crazy to me considering in years past it seemed like the championship contenders seemed to always be truck champions as well. I and my fellow race team member Trey talked about it on our recent YouTube episode, that Christopher is arguably the most talented driver on the track overall. His luck though seems to be what has hindered him at this track in years past. With a DNF due to engine failure and a flat tire with ten to go, it’s almost like “Lady Luck” has been rooting against the next driver of the #95 cup series car.

While luck hasn’t been in his favor in years past. You can’t deny the championship mentality has been with this team all year. When Bell is on he is really on. Two times this year he’s led every lap, but around 14 or so at New Hampshire and Richmond. This Xfinity series championship is the last check this young man needs for his career before making the jump next year to the cup series with is championship four companions.

Conclusion

Xfinity Series Trophy

This is the final race for the Xfinity series this year. One way or another a champion will be crowned. After this race, this series will look so very much different next season. New drivers and familiar faces will be competing for the title next season.

My predictions for this race, well who the hell knows honestly? I predicted strategy to propel Ross Chastain to win last night and Matt Crafton stole it from them. Realistically two things happen. One of your “Big Three” dominates the whole race and ride off into the sunset. Or it’s a back and forth battle all race. Look for defending champion Tyler Reddick overcome some sort of adversity in this race and steal another title If I had to put my best-educated guess at who wins. What do you think? Let me know?
