AEW Dynamite comes to us live from inside the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, GA.
Steel Cage match: Cody vs Wardlow
Wardlow, several months after making his debut for AEW, will make his in-ring debut tonight on Dynamite. One of MJF’s stipulations for Cody was for him to face Wardlow one on one, locked inside a steel cage.
Two weeks ago, Cody was whipped 10 times with a belt by MJF. Marks from the lashes could still be seen a week later, showing how personal this rivalry has gotten. MJF vows to end the era of Cody and bring forth his era.
With only 10 days to go until Revolution, what shape will Cody be in after tonight heading into the final AEW Dynamite before the PPV?
#1 contender tag team battle royal
This match includes: The Young Bucks, Jurassic Express, Butcher& Blade, Strong Hearts, Best Friends, Dark Order, Private Party, TH2, SCU, and Santana & Ortiz. The winner faces the AEW tag team champions at Revolution.
Will this be a cluster? Yes
Will this be incredibly entertaining? Yes
AEW tag team championship match
Hangman Page & Kenny Omega face the Lucha Bros tonight on AEW Dynamite.
Page’s current ‘drunk cowboy’ gimmick has gotten over very well with the AEW fans. His bits on Being the Elite (BTE) is some of the best content that the channel has put out recently.
Page trying to distance himself from the Elite and be in this tag team with Omega. It makes for an interesting dynamic in the sense that eventually, Kenny is going to have to pick a side; unless, however, the Lucha Bros escape Atlanta as new tag team champions.
Jeff Cobb vs Jon Moxley
Last week on AEW Dynamite, Jeff Cobb made his AEW debut, demolishing Jon Moxley and joining the Inner Circle in the process.
Cobb, a former Olympian, is known around the world and has built up an incredible resume that would make any promoter’s mouth water.
Not only did he wrestle in the 2004 Olympics representing Guam, he’s also help championships in promotions like New Japan (NJPW), Ring of Honor, and held the PWG World championship for over a year.
Moxley and Cobb squared off this past summer in the B Block on the G1 29 in NJPW, where Moxley stood victorious in the end. You can watch the match here:
Jeff Cobb provides an interesting dynamic inside the Inner Circle. Because there’s already a big man in the group, it might make for some fun tension within the group itself, or flourish like never before. Either way, he’s a great addition and tonight’s match will be a testament to that.
