Well, the time has come for fans and non-fans to join forces and root for the ultimate watching period of college basketball, March Madness. And what does that include? Making a March Madness Bracket.
But I’m here to tell the new ones and remind the old ones so hopefully you won’t forget.
It’s okay not to make a March Madness bracket.
Yes, the next four weeks will be filled with heartbreaks, tournament championships and plenty more to round out.
For the first time in what seems like an eternity, there isn’t a solidified number one team going into March.
There is a team holding the title of number one, but how sure are you that they will keep that title in the upcoming weeks?

March Madness Bracket Uncertainty
The uncertainty of the year has made the current top ten rankings look as unusual as ever before.
Even traditional powers including two teams (preseason top five teams Michigan State and North Carolina) have had two of its worst years in recent memory.
Still thinking about that March Madness bracket? Let me change your mind even more.
Just two weekends ago, 9 top 25 teams lost. 8 of those losses came at the hands of unranked teams. Some of the upsets included former number five Louisville losing at Clemson.
Once number ten Seton Hall losing at Providence. And once number 11 Auburn losing at Missouri.
And that’s not even the half of it.
This weekend, unranked TCU defeated number two Baylor. Unranked Clemson defeated another top ten team in number six Florida State. Then unranked Virginia defeated number 7 Duke and unranked Providence defeated number 12 Villanova.

Need More Evidence?
Just in Saturday’s action alone, a total of 8 more top 25 teams fell to unranked teams.
Let me give you one more reason why it may be safe to avoid a March Madness Bracket.
Championships for every major conference kick off while mid major conferences have started already.
In this article, several of the top scouts and analysts for ESPN are even conflicted about who to choose as the winners. Three teams have been divided as a potential winner of the postseason conference championships between the ACC, SEC and Big Ten.
It’s still my boldest statement to date and I won’t back away from it even as it gets closer to the time to fill out a March Madness bracket.

It’s a fun time of the year as always, but if you are making a March Madness Bracket for any other reason outside of bragging rights between friends, you may want to reconsider.
