AEW Dynamite comes to us from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Fl.
- Kenny Omega vs Trent – a rematch of their 2017 IWGP U.S. championship bout.
TNT Championship Bracket Released
Monday afternoon, it was announced via press release on Twitter that AEW will be gaining a new championship.
The first half of the bracket was revealed on AEW Dark. The match ups include: Cody versus Shawn Spears and Sammy Guevara versus Darby Allin.
The second half will be shown tonight on AEW Dynamite. The winner will be declared after a single elimination tournament featuring eight competitors. It begins next week on AEW Dynamite!
Because of the lack of interest put into the mid-card championships in WWE, AEW will likely try and heavily feature this TNT championship on AEW Dynamite. Expect main event talent to win this title and look for AEW to establish it as one of the top prizes in the wrestling world.
Author’s prediction: Give the title to Cody (or another established star) and have them do weekly open challenges. John Cena’s 2015 U.S. open challenge has tried to be replicated several times over since and has never been topped. Could it finally be matched?
Lance Archer’s AEW Dynamite Debut
Ever since Jake “The Snake” Roberts debut several weeks ago on AEW Dynamite and introduced Lance Archer as his protege, the hype surrounding the Murderhawk Monster is immense.
Cody told the world last week that Archer can come to Jacksonville this week if he wants, and that’s what he’ll get. Cody has been critical of Roberts and Archer since they came onto the scene recently.
“No one in AEW is ready. Especially Cody Rhodes.” said Archer, via Twitter.
It didn’t take Cody long to respond. “I appreciate Lance & his skillset. AEW is glad to have him. I’m not interested in social media angles though. He will debut this week, but not against me. He has zero record with AEW, me wrestling him does a disservice to others climbing into the Top-5. Maybe down the road.”
Because this will likely result in a big match down the line, seeing how things play out between the two will be interesting and something to keep your eye on.

Happy WrestleMania week!
