Nitro Rallycross Minneapolis has come to an end. Marking the end of the third event of the 2022-23 NRX season.
Group E Heats
Heat One
Heat one would see Kevin Eriksson’s in pole position. Travis Pastrana, Conner Martell, Jenson Button and Fraser McConnell would fill out the rest of the grid. Travis Pastrana would take the heat win. Finishing 5.393 seconds ahead of the returning Fraser McConnell. Conner Martell would come in third, 1.178 behind McConnell. Jenson Button would come in fourth 57.789 seconds behind Martell. Kevin Eriksson would only race three laps. As a roll would end his race early.
Heat Two
Heat two would see Robin Larsson in pole position. Oliver Eriksson, Andrew Carlson, Oliver Bennett and Andreas Bakkerud would fill out the rest of the grid. Robin Larsson would win the heat to advance to the finals. Finishing the heat 3.927 seconds ahead of DRR JC teammate Andreas Bakkerud. Andrew Carlson would finish the heat third, 0.807 seconds behind Bakkerud. Oliver Bennett would finish the heat fourth, 1.113 seconds behind Carlson. Much like Kevin Eriksson in heat one, Oliver Eriksson would only race three laps. Unlike Kevin, Oliver would spin out into a berm, but wouldn’t roll.
Group E Semi-Finals
Semi-Final One
Semi-final one would see Fraser McConnell start in pole position. With Andrew Carlson, Jensen Button and Oliver Eriksson filling out the rest of the semi-final. Fraser McConnell would take the Semi-final win. Finishing the race 2.535 seconds ahead of Oliver Eriksson. Andrew Carlson would finish the race third, 3.920 seconds behind Eriksson. Jenson Button would finish the race fourth, 2.080 seconds behind Carlson. McConnell and Eriksson would advance to the finals.
Semi-Final Two
Semi-final two would see Andreas Bakkerud start in pole position. With Conner Martell, Oliver Bennett and Kevin Eriksson filling out the rest of the semi-final. Conner Martell would take the semi-final win. Finishing the race 1.416 seconds ahead of Andreas Bakkerud. Oliver Bennett would finish third, 21.403 seconds behind Bakkerud. Kevin Eriksson wouldn’t start the semi-final. Martell and Bakkerud would advance to the finals.
Group E Last Chance Qualifier
The last chance qualifier would see Andrew Carlson start in pole position. With Oliver Bennett, Jenson Button and Kevin Eriksson filling out the rest of the LCQ. Andrew Carlson would take the LCQ win. Finishing the race 2.275 seconds ahead of Oliver Bennett. Jenson Button would come in third, 0.317 seconds behind Xite Energy teammate Oliver Bennett. Kevin Eriksson would not start the LCQ. Carlson and Bennett would advance to the finals.
Group E Final
The Group E final would see championship leader Robin Larsson start in pole position. Travis Pastrana, Conner Martell, Fraser McConnell, Oliver Eriksson, Andreas Bakkerud, Andrew Carlson and Oliver Bennett would fill the rest of the final. Travis Pastrana would win the final. Finishing 3.793 seconds behind Championship leader Robin Larsson. Fraser McConnell would come in third, 1.330 seconds behind Larsson. Andreas Bakkerud would come in fourth, 3.430 seconds behind McConnell. Oliver Bennett would round out the top five, finishing 1.7 seconds behind Bakkerud.
Group E Championship Standings
Robin Larsson remains the Group E championship leader. Larsson now sits 21 points ahead of DRR JC teammate Andreas Bakkerud, who remains second. Fraser McConnell will remain third, 11 points ahead of Travis Pastrana. Pastrana would move into fourth after winning the event and taking home 53 points on the weekend. Which is the second most points, behind Larsson’s 54. Oliver Eriksson will round out the top five sitting 26 points behind Pastrana.
