Patrick Gruszka placed fourth at Sno*Drift, find out about his time at the event. As well as why he chose a Hyundai i20 for his season and what we can expect from him at the Rally In The 100 Acre Wood.
Why Did Gruszka Choose A Hyundai i20 For His 2023 ARA Campaign?
Patrick Gruszka would decide to change his car from the Mitsubishi Mirage he used last season. This change would come as a result of the ARA’s new vehicle restrictions. Gruszka would choose the Hyundai i20 because of its good track record in rally. Along with the i20 being a car that would allow him to be more competitive this season, and likely beyond this season.
What Was Gruszka’s Biggest Challenge At Sno*Drift?
Gruszka would say his biggest challenge at Sno*Drift would be learning the new car. As he didn’t have much time to test before the event. This came as a result of him getting the car later than expected. Add that to the fact there was a lack of snow during the pre-event test at Sno*Drift. Making it hard to know what to expect, therefore adding an extra challenge.
What Was Gruszka’s Biggest Regret At Sno*Drift?
Gruszka said he doesn’t have any major regrets from the event. He does however wish he pushed a little harder as there was more traction than expected.
Did Gruszka Follow The Plan Heading Into Sno*Drift Or Did It Change?
Gruszka stuck to his strategy heading into the weekend. His strategy was much of the same as other drivers, which was to stay on the road and finish the rally. Gruszka also wanted to use the event to learn and get used to the car. As he would like to compete for a top spot this season, and Sno*Drift isn’t much of an event to gauge the season on.
Was Gruszka Happy With Fourth Overall At Sno*Drift?
Gruszka would finish Sno*Drift fourth overall and third in the RC2 class. Gruszka would like this result. As it puts him in a position to battle for a top-three spot. Getting into a top three spot shouldn’t be much of a challenge seeing as Kyle Tilley who sits third overall in the championship isn’t attending the Rally In The 100 Acre Wood next month.
What Can We Expect At 100 Acre Wood?
Patrick Gruszka will head to the first gravel rally of the 2023 Green APU ARA Rally Championship looking for a top-three or four finish. Gruszka feels the car will be competitive at the event, even with the stacked entry list.
