Well, the All-Star race has come and gone. As well as a pretty solid Coca-Cola 600, after mother nature delayed the start of the race to Monday. We’ve had an eventful three weeks of racing since my last NASCAR Power Rankings so I don’t feel we should wait any longer.
Moving On Up! 15th-11th
- 15. Ty Gibbs
Iron men. @Justin_Haley_ and @TyGibbs pulled off the #Alsco300 and #CocaCola600 double, racing for over seven hours and logging nearly 900 miles in a single day.

I see you, rookie! Impressive weekend for this young man at Charlotte. I didn’t want to like Ty, but I’m coming around because he’s doing exactly what a rookie should. Logging laps, learning, and if you can compete. After the red though this car was competing in the top five before stage three ended. Sadly he was caught up in a late race spin by Kyle Larson and his finish doesn’t reflect the day. Again though I see you, rookie!
- 14. Joey Logano
Joey was also caught up in that late spin with Ty, but honestly other than the stage two finish, it wasn’t a great day. I know he has the Atlanta win, but in the last nine races, Joey has only been able to finish in the top ten three times. He’s riding the struggle bus right now and you can now tell in his position on these NASCAR Power Rankings lists.
- 13. Bubba Wallace
Bubba has wheeled his car into three consecutive top-five finishes. If that’s not good enough for you how about this? In the last seven races Bubba has only finished outside the top fifteen once, at Talladega and he wrecked battling for the WIN.
- 12. Chris Buescher
Stage two winner, and raced a hell of a race again. Only one hiccup at Kansas and even then it was still a top-twenty finishing hiccup. This team is getting better and better each week.
- 11. Brad Keselowski
Brad ran up front all race, before a fire in his pit stall during one of their later pit stops and a wheel didn’t get secured causing an unplanned pit stop. Brad showed the speed this team has on one of the biggest stages just sadly didn’t get the finish to show for his efforts.
NASCAR Power Rankings 10, 9, 8, 7
- 10. Kyle Busch
I wasn’t really shocked to see Kyle running well early. He always seems to show up on big stages. However when he spun from the seventh position. Then had to do his best impression of Mater from the Car’s movies. I wasn’t sure based on prior races this year, but he wheeled himself back to a top-ten finish.
- 9. Denny Hamlin

Not a huge fan of Denny, think he is a bit of a whiner myself. However, he got taken out Monday. I need not go any further on that right? NASCAR even made that decision as soon as they could. It’s hard to say what could’ve been for Denny.
- 8. Kevin Harvick
I loved watching him and Rodney Childer’s work and adjust on this car the whole race. It was really cool and showed the benefit of having a good bond between the two. Falling from second to thirtieth early and battling back to an eleventh-place finish showed why he is one of the top seventy-five drivers ever to drive a stock car.
Retweet to congratulate Ryan Blaney on his win at Charlotte! pic.twitter.com/wuOxVI6G8j

- 7. Ryan Blaney
“It was not a matter of if he would win again but when…” I believe this is what was said on the broadcast Monday in the closing laps. I knew this was coming. Ryan had the best car early, and was upfront often battling and winded up leading the most laps and grabbing his first win in almost sixty races! Atta Boi Blaney!
Comers and Goers: 6, 5, 4, 3
- 6. Ross Chastain
Ross, struggled Monday. I was honestly a bit shocked to see him struggle like he did. It will be interesting to see if he can rebound at WWT this weekend.
- 5. Martin Truex Jr.
Rebounds are the story of Martin’s Coca-Cola 600 race weekend. On and off the track, if you follow NASCAR Twitter. He was up and down but mostly in the top ten all race. Then to bring home a third-place finish. Watch out race fans Martin Truex Jr. could be heating up.
- 4. Christopher Bell

Bell, kind of got screwed a bit by his team this weekend. Someone on the team was caught cutting pieces of the vinyl wrap off of the car during the red flag. So to the back of the field, Christopher had to go as a result. Where he later got wrapped up in the same spin as numbers fifteen, and fourteen on this NASCAR Power Rankings list.
- 3. Tyler Reddick
Another race, and another weekend Tyler shows everyone why Denny Hamlin wanted him to drive one of those cars. He showed out in that “Caroline Blue” TRD Camry for team Co-Owner Michael Jordan in his home state.
You Can Skip These If You Really Wanna: 2nd & 1st
- 2. Kyle Larson
Kyle battled and battled all race, and just had the front end snap loose in the middle of a curve in front of a lot of race cars. That’s racing though sometimes, you’re doing the ass-kicking others you’re getting your ass kicked.
- 1. William Byron
His freaking pit crew was phenomenal. I got to the point much like everyone else, I knew they were going to win the race off pit road on caution stops. William battled the best he could against Blaney but Blaney’s car was the best. William has three wins and could’ve had another with just a bit better car.
See Ya After, WWT Raceway
If you’re looking for Chase Elliott, well even as an Elliott fan I had to take him off the list. If you miss a race for injury or other reason you have to work your way back onto this list in my eyes. With his suspension for this week’s race announced, I figured what better time than now? However, I’ll add this Chase is easily one of the top fifteen drivers in this sport.
He is a champion and multiple-race winner. He made a big mistake, yes but a mistake nonetheless in the heat of battle. Cut him some slack, it was dumb and I’m sure he knows that somewhat now. Or I’d at least hope. He will win a race, and probably be in the playoffs I’m confident. I’ll catch all of you after WWT Raceway!
