One of the top cornerbacks on the market is off the board. Tre’Davious White signed with the Rams on Tuesday, agreeing to a one-year deal worth $10 million. Let’s break it all down.
Out Of The East, Heading West
The 29-year-old was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in 2017, chosen 27th overall. He made an impact of the gate, nabbing four interceptions, 18 pass deflections, and 69 tackles. Those statistics got him so close to winning Defensive Rookie of the Year, losing out to Marshon Latimore.
White has made the Pro Bowl twice, including in 2019 when he had six interceptions and made the All-Pro team.
He continued to be Buffalo’s CB1 for a while, but 2023 was a tough year after he tore his Achilles four games into the season. Playing considerably well, he had a 68.0 PFF grade (including a 79.0 coverage grade) before being ruled out for the year. The Bills cut him to help create more cap space.
Now, Tre’Davious White heads west to Los Angeles, joining a Rams team who needed upgrades at the cornerback position heading into the offseason. He will be lining up opposite of Darious Williams, who was also signed by the team in free agency.
The Rams will hope he will return to his old self, as he is a shutdown corner when healthy.
