One of the biggest needs for the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason is the cornerback position. Why not get the fastest one in the draft? With a 4.28 40-yard dash, Wiggins has elite athleticism and is comfortable in either man or zone coverage. Add in his competitiveness, and he’s a long-term starter for the Eagles, possibly replacing James Bradberry from the jump.

I couldn’t pass up on Wilson in round two. Despite signing Devante Parker and Parris Campbell this offseason, the Michigan product is an immediate upgrade over the two of them. He is projected to be a slot receiver. But, he has excellent speed and great route-running to be impactful. His ability to change direction with ease makes him intriguing.

With the other second-round pick, I went with the selection of Cooper. He had a 90.8 PFF grade in 2023. It was a big improvement compared to 2022. He brings a lot of athleticism and is an effective blitzer. Working on deep coverage will be needed, but you can’t deny his ability to change direction well.

On day three, I wanted to add offensive line depth with Jones in the fourth round and Coker in the seventh. There’s a possibility Jones could move to guard and then become the starting right tackle once Lane Johnson retires.

I also liked the addition of Nugent in round five as the depth at the center position behind Cam Jurgens. He possesses solid run blocking and has good upper-body power despite his small size.

Finally, Johnson comes to the team as depth at running back behind Saquon Barkley. But, he is a good enough all-around athlete to contribute more than we think down the line. For now, he will be mostly a third-down back.
