2024 will mark the 100th season for the New York Giants. With that said, this Monday will be a day that many fans will look forward to.

Usually, when a team announces something like this, it means new uniforms are on the way. New York already has four jersey combinations: home blues, away whites, their “Color Rush”, and the Legacy Uniforms.

So, what should the Giants have as a jersey design to celebrate their 100th season? Well, it’s time to go back to the archives and bring back the red uniforms.
1937 Was When It All Started
Before 2004, the Giants primarily wore the regular home blue jerseys and the white away ones we still see to this day. But, during that season, they decided to bring the red jerseys back.
We actually have to go back all the way to 1937, when the Giants wore red jerseys for most of their home games. That was matched with white numbers, blue helmets, and grey pants.
But, in 1953, the red jersey would be replaced by a white one with blue block numbers. We wouldn’t see any more red until 2004 when New York would only wear it once a season.
These would be serving as the alternate jerseys for three years, before going away slowly after 2007.
They Should Be Brought Back
If there’s a perfect uniform the Giants should bring back for their 100th season, it should be the red ones. It’s what the franchise primarily wore during their beginning years in the NFL, and what better way to celebrate a memorable time in the year than resurrecting them?
Yes, the color red has always been a color not many people think about when it comes to Big Blue. But, it’s always been a part of the team’s uniforms for years. It’s time to bring them back. The blue helmets with “Giants” across them, red uniforms, and white pants would be a great combination as the team celebrates another year in the NFL.
