The Oakland Athletics may currently sport a record of 26-43. However, they have some players who could represent the team at the All-Star Game in Texas. Let’s dive into who may be headed to Globe Life Park.

Mason Miller

Oakland’s closer has been outstanding this season. His 2.12 ERA is among the best among all relievers in MLB, and his 12 saves are currently tied for tenth-most in the league.

With his 100+ MPH fastball along with a devastating slider, few batters have been able to get the best of him. Opponents are hitting .167 against his fastball, and .120 against the slider. Incredible stuff from the former starting pitcher.

In 23 appearances, 19 of them have been scoreless. Props to Miller, who is the most likely out of the bunch to represent the Athletics at the All-Star Game.

Brent Rooker

Last year’s All-Star representative for the team, Rooker is having another solid season so far this year. In 55 games, the slugger has a batting average of .269 and a slugging percentage of .532.

More importantly, he still has the power he showed last year. After posting 30 home runs and 69 RBIs last year, he’s well on pace to pass those numbers. Currently, he is at 13 home runs and 40 RBIs. Those numbers are good for 15th and 20th-best in the league, respectively.

By far the team’s best hitter, he has a great chance to make the trip down to Texas along with Miller.

Abraham Toro

With 65 games played, the third baseman has been great for the A’s. His 66 hits lead the team, while also ranking in the top 30 in the league at that category. In fact, he has the fourth-most hits among everyone at his position.

The lead-off man also sports a .265 batting average, which is second-best on the team.

After never truly finding his footing in Houston and playing just nine games for the Brewers in 2023, Toro has been a solid offensive piece for the Athletics and it could lead to a surprise appearance in the All-Star Game.
