We all know it’s way too early to be making predictions for the 2025 NASCAR season. Isn’t that why we do these pieces? So we can look back at the end and make fun of ourselves? I mean two years ago I said before the season that Joe Gibbs Racing in general would go winless. That definitely didn’t happen. It’s all about the fun of the game so let’s get this first NASCAR article of 2025 rolling!
Denny Hamlin Goes Winless

Denny Hamlin and Victory Lane have been pretty good friends in recent seasons. He hasn’t had a winless season since 2018 to be specific. However, Denny and his number eleven team as a whole have experienced some pretty big shake-ups as of late. Starting at the end of last season when it was announced FedEx would be leaving after a longstanding relationship with JGR and Denny specifically. Now sponsors have changes in leadership and even budgets so they will leave. A few weeks later it was announced Chris Gabehart, the crew chief of the eleven-car team would be leaving that role. Just recently it was floating around on social media that Mavis Tire who was the primary sponsor on Denny’s car a few times over the last couple seasons also won’t be returning it appears. Not to mention all of the stuff going on outside of JGR either.
Since Denny is an owner of 23XI Racing. They happen to be going through court hearings right now against NASCAR. There has been a lot of noise surrounding Denny and his team this off-season some could argue maybe more than in prior. Those distractions catch up to everyone eventually. Could the 2025 NASCAR season be the beginning of the downward slide to retirement for Denny?
Trackhouse Becomes Dominant

Most will say that last year was a down year for Trackhouse as a team. Considering they came on the scene so hot so quickly winning three races as a team in their first two seasons in the Cup Series. They still had two wins as a team, one driver in the playoffs (Suarez), and led over 500 laps as a team.
Like a lot of us anticipated they’ve added Shane Van Gisbergen into the mix now on a full-time basis. With the abundance of road course races on the schedule, they’ve already upped their chances of a few more wins as a team with that addition. Plus Ross and Daniel haven’t exactly been underperforming as I mentioned above. They are winning drivers themselves. Justin Marks has assembled a solid stable of drivers and built a good team around them. Watch out for Trackhouse to really become a force to be reckoned with during the 2025 NASCAR season.
Spire and Front Row Get Cars Into The Playoffs

The performances, we have seen in recent seasons out of Front Row Motorsports alone should warrant this, especially with the addition of drivers like Noah Gragson, and Zane Smith. It wasn’t but a season or two ago Michael Mcdowell took them to the playoffs. Plus, I believe Todd Gilliland is going to take off this season as the leader of the stable. He had some solid showings last season finish-wise and even better qualifying runs. The question I think I have for FRM is can they as a team get past all of the outside noise with the court proceedings they are involved with alongside 23XI Racing against NASCAR?

Spire Drivers
Spire is an interesting team to look at heading into the 2025 NASCAR season. Justin Haley came over mid-season in a rare driver swap scenario. While he only had one top ten finish, behind the wheel of the number seven car. I think a full off-season under his belt back with Spire as well as the addition of Rodney Childers is only going to benefit a guy who was driving RWR cars to top-ten finishes. Michael McDowell is a solid veteran driver who is going to bring some more experience to the stable. He took FRM to victory lane in the Daytona 500 and even was able to grab six pole awards last season. I think he will do what he’s always done, and be solid. The third driver is the one who may have the biggest ceiling of them all through this season. Carson Hocevar. Carson made a lot of amateur, rookie mistakes last season. He also though drove his tail off and was contending for top fifteens a lot of the time. If he cleans it up this season driver-wise, look for Carson to be the one I expect to lead the charge for Spire.
Conclusion
Denny Hamlin going winless is a huge prediction I’m sure I’ll get lots of lovely responses from Hamlin fans about it. Can Trackhouse and its drivers take the next steps to be one of the dominant teams in NASCAR? Or will just one of the cars from FRM and Spire make it into the playoffs? Could more than one make it?
