The 2022 World Rally Championship season continues this weekend with the tenth round, EKO Acropolis Rally Greece.
What Is EKO Acropolis Rally Greece?
EKO Acropolis Rally Greece is the tenth round on the 2022 WRC schedule. The rally runs 16 stages over 303.30km. In 2021 Greece made a return to the WRC schedule for the first time since 2013 where now Toyota Team Principal Jari-Matti Latvala won the event.
First Day Preview
The first day of EKO Acropolis Rally Greece will feature a short shakedown stage and the SuperSpecial Stage. The shakedown stage will run a total of 3.63km. While the SuperSpecial will run 1.95km. The SuperSpecial is the first timed stage of the event.

Second Day Preview
Day two will feature six stages with a total distance of 108.31km. The longest of those stages is the 22.97km Bauxites stage, which is the final stage of the day. The shortest of those stages is the 13.99km Danfi stage, which is the fourth stage of the day.

Third Day Preview
The third day will be the longest of the three days in terms of stage kilometres. Running a total of 147.98km over six stages. The longest of these stages is the Pyros stage which runs 33.20km and is run twice. The shortest of these stages is the 17.42 Perivoli stage which is also run twice.

The four will be the second shortest day of the rally. Running a total of 45.06km over three stages. The longest of these stages will be the 16.90km Eleftherohori stage which is run twice. The shortest of the stages is the 11.26kn Elatia-Rengini stage.

A Little History
EKO Acropolis Rally Greece, more commonly known as the “Rally Of Gods” was first run in 1953. The rally was one of the founding members of the WRC in 1973. Rally Legend Colin McRae won the event five times from 1996 to 2002. Other winners include Walter Röhrl. Carlos Sainz and Sebastian Loeb.
The Return Of The SuperSpecial
The 2022 running of EKO Acropolis Rally Greece will see the return of the SuperSpecial stage. The stage takes place in the Athens Olympic Stadium. This is the first time since 2006 that the stage will be run.
